Misc 2019 Banter & Friendly Conservation

Unfortunately, I think it's pretty obvious where this one is headed. Cold air chasing moisture rarely works out even in places where it is cold w/o a corresponding weak wave along the boundary to overrun the front and sling significant moisture back into the colder air or at least withhold drier air from quickly filtering in further to the SE. This one could sting for many unless we get a dramatic turn around late in the game because after this front things look very quiet thru the first half of February.
I think Alabama will do fine with this and that's all that matters to me

I gave yall the formula for snow in the SE. Nobody believes me. :(

It's very real and why pessimism towards snow here in the SE is usually the right way to go. I've been burned too many times over the years hoping the "cold chasing moisture" cold front scenario would work out... unfortunately I think many in the SE may have a similar experience with this one if the RGEM/NAM are right.

Thank goodness we had that storm in early December. So much for the great pattern and snow chances here. Overhyped once again. Feels like folks really have no idea when we have better chances at getting snow here. Folks were dismissing the models with the December storm, and it ended up being a big one here. And then people were saying the pattern looked awesome starting the 20th of January, but it didn't produce any storms and doesn't look like any chances here in the near future. I am thankful for that December storm, but it really looks like predicting winter weather here is just throwing darts and hoping something sticks.

We get your damn point . Post your BS troll posts in the right thread or enjoy your time off

Pretty childish response coming from a Mod. You're no better than anyone here. Then you threaten "time off"???? We are all grown ups here, you aren't talking to children. Also, no need for cursing, perhaps you need time off!

Many of the same posters in that blog were pouring salt on our wounds all week before the dramatic last second NW trends commenced several days ago w/ the coastal near the Carolinas
Don't get me wrong I don't blame you. like I said I see both sides.

It's more fun to try to find ways for a storm to work out and cherish that rare occasion when it does. But man, most of the time, looking for ways it can go wrong is far more accurate.

Yeah it's fun watching the storms and hoping they work out but the SE as a whole has had some pretty rough luck as of late. We get a good pattern and the Carolinas miss a coastal bomb that could have been a big storm and what looked like a nice arctic front snow for western areas of the south is now quickly fizzling out inside 48 hours.

I agree. He thinks he knows it all. And kicks people off when they challenge him. I would say 90% would agree with me.

If you take issue with any of the staff then PM them do not address it in open forum please... thanks.

Maybe the best thing to do is not to hype any pattern and say it looks awesome for winter storms. The pattern for the December storm was not really hyped at all. Unfortunately, my theory of only being able to get one big snow here a winter, and once that happens not getting anything else, looks like it might hold true.

That storm in December feels like your basketball team getting a big win over their rival who was ranked number one, but then the rest of winter is like losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament afterwards.
