Misc 2019 Banter & Friendly Conservation

I think both aren't great operating systems. I think Windows 8 is definitely the "Windows ME" of this generation though or maybe your updated Vista. I got a laptop with it as a gift (my first laptop was really just a netbook) for me going to college and when I saw that there was no desktop at the start I said...what. I changed it though and got accustomed to it, but I had heard of plenty of issues with it. It's life was ended fast for good reason.

I just don't like the bells and whistles that Windows 10 has if you don't custom install (which I did).
Lol, I forgot Vista even existed. I have no opinion on Vista because I never used it. I went straight from XP to 7.

I used Vista for years and besides the registry corruption issue that would make you have to do a quick repair install, I think it's perception was much worse than it actually was.

It was a memory hog though. Windows 10 seems about the same, but I rarely use a PC anymore as broadband doesn't exist out here.

I went to Chromebooks years ago and haven't looked back :p
Chromebooks are only good for people who want to browse the web and use simple programs. I can't stand them myself because they're so limited and have about as much power as a couple of potatoes and are about as resourceful as one. Of course I'm on windows 7 at the moment but I had windows 8.1 on my laptop that I bricked recently and I don't miss it.

I get they arent for everyone but they work for me honestly. Last few Windows machines i had were such a disaster
