Misc 2019 Banter & Friendly Conservation

My basketball team for the work league advanced to the championship game by winning tonight by 5. Every now and then I have a game that makes me keep wanting to play, and tonight was one of those games. Perfect from the floor and foul line, including four 3 pointers, and scored 25. Hit the go ahead 3 pointer when we were down by 1. Not bad for a 44 year old guy and the oldest on the team.

what does everyone think about Winston Salem changing the name of the Dixie class fair...big protests vs supporters today

my opinion is if they change it they should also change the name Winston-Salem because it promotes tobacco

sales are going down regardless it’s not good publicity at this stage

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Duluth MN
858 PM CDT Wed May 8 2019

.UPDATE...
Issued at 858 PM CDT Wed May 8 2019

Added southern Cass county and Crow Wing county to the Winter Weather Advisory. Elevated band of FGEN, with a coupled jet structure in the area has led to this decision. Rest of the forecast unchanged.

UPDATE Issued at 718 PM CDT Wed May 8 2019

Had a brief round of thundersnow here at the office, some lightning noted southwest of Brainerd an hour ago, but has subsided. Several reports of 1 to near 3 inches of snow in east central and northeast Minnesota. Made some slight upward adjustments to snow totals, but within the current advisory and warnings in effect. Several convective cloud elements still showing up on satellite, but a mix of rain/snow/sleet weather types. Made some other minor tweaks."

Rumor has it that the weeklies are out though I as yet don't know what they have for the SE. I can't wait to see them as this is a rather important run. If anyone finds out, I'm sure many would like to know what they're saying.

Best bet, this time of year ... in some locals that have nothing to do with anything north of Waycross or west of the Tidewater ...

I just wonder when snow is finally going to be taken completely off the map for the year so winter 2018-19 can D-I-E once and for all!
