Still 5" of snow on the ground 3 days after... You just don't get that kind of staying power in the south.
February 2015 we had snow on the ground for just over 2 weeks followed by another 4 inch snow a day or so after the previous snow melted. The kicker was the first snow dropped 2 inches of sleet followed by 2-3 inches of snow followed by a lot of cold. Sleet definitely takes longer to melt and since the snow stayed on the ground so long this was definitely my 2nd or 3rd favorite winter of all time. Basically we had snow on the ground for almost three weeks which is also incredibly rare even in the upper south. Most storms are melted after 3-4 days with just patches after that.
 
Since all we do is ----- and moan about the long run why did everyone skip over this Rainer
