So far, nine or so inches on December 8th and now add to it an inch and half gets me to ~10.5" or so for the winter.

The best winter I remember, not counting '93 since I was only 5 when it hit. So far it has already beat '10-'11 where I received 7" from three storms. May not get anymore, but to say this in January is crazy.
Thats crazy. You may not be done yet

Have all been hit with appreciable winter weather this winter. But Columbia? No. So how about everyone next time give us some hope that maybe we can get some winter love. Frustration isn't even good enough to describe how I feel about this recent bust here. When you love the weather like many people on this thread do, you understand where I am coming from. So the whole "try not to take it so serious, it's just weather" is for the birds.

It seems like in the past 6-8 years Cola's ideal setups come more often in February or early March, I'm sure there is no science behind that, but plenty of Winter left. I know I only saw measurable snow 1 our of 6 years that I lived in that area, but they did get measurable snowfall in 2010 (9") and on January 11th, 2011 I believe. Since then its just been 2013 I believe.

It was three times in 2014 (January, February, and November), and last March.

Posted this in the other thread but more appropriate for here.

I have been in a snow drought since 2014. No more than a dusting if that. This season I have seen and good 5 to 6 inch wet snow and a 2 inch powder just a little over a month apart. I was happy with the dusting I had when I went to bed last night and had a pleasant surprise when I woke up. 2017/2018 is a win for me.

I hope it still has a few more surprises left in it but I am good if it doesn't. I know the frustration a lot on this board are having. I missed out on so many good snow that hit just north or just south of me it wasn't funny, but try not to let it get the best of you. Life is precious. Don't sweat the little stuff.

Snow in the south is a special event that does not always pan out. If it did it would not be special. I have come to learn that all the missed opportunities only make it more meaningful when it comes together. Enjoy it if you get it and look forward to the next if you missed out but do not let it make you miserable. Snow In The South Is Special and I for one want to keep it that way. (Just my 2 cents probably worth less)

If you want to get technical Atlanta has three times with .1" on January 1st.

Columbia is horrible. I don't like the majority of the people or the layout. I stay away from there if at all possible. Charleston is much nicer, if you're talking history/people/layout. etc. Except when you feed the birds at the Battery. They give you tickets for that now. So nvm, CHS sucks too.

I didn't have much of a problem with the city, it has come a very long way since the 90s, but it was just pretty dissapointing that a good size city with such a large university had such a poor bar/restaurant district. There are some really good places, don't get me wrong, but it could certainly be better. My biggest issues was the damn heat; downwind of the mountains, literally 200' lower than everything else around it. It was like sitting in a microwave in the summer.

The biggest issue here in Lexington/Columbia of recent years, is everything is trying to cater to the northern transplants who have more money than sense. this area is growing too fast, with stores and eating joints that are too over priced.

Like, its no longer Southern down here. I live on a dead end road that used to have nobody out here. Now all the old people have sold their land and have turned my freaking dead end road into an interstate with all the development out here.

I dont even know where these people come from, but they all have their fancy cars, (think BMW) etc, and think they are holier than thou. The traffic never ends on a dead end road! It makes no sense, and I am ready to get the Hell out of here.

I am sure, stay clear of the ATL then, I sometimes don't even know where I live anymore. So many languages spoken...and I do not mean just Yankee, lol...Of course our traffic is 24/7...

Yeah, I don't like big populated areas be it cities, stores, etc. I'd be a nervous wreck in Metro Atlanta. I'm about to just sell everything I own and go somewhere in the NC Mountains and start over to get away from everything. Don't get me wrong, I like society, friends, etc, but the constant traffic, loud trucks etc waking me up is annoying.

Check this story out. There is some moron who lives in a new neighborhood just built that walks along the side of my road and picks up trash. Cool right? This person literally puts empty beer cans, soda cans, etc on top of my mailbox expecting me to go down there and get it to throw it away. I ---- you not. Who in the Hell does that?

I can't catch them, but I am going to convert my Raspberry PI I just bought into a camera and nail their ass. When I find out who it is, I am literally going to take one of my beer pong party's trash to their mail box one night.
