Misc 2018 Banter & Venting Thread

You know it’s a sh*t winter when a storm takes a track right off the coast and delivers rain for most to the east and those to the west are still holding out hope for a narrow backside band of dusting accums with marginal cold chasing moisture smh just bring on spring already. Winter just started and I already can’t take the pain anymore

I’ve really elevated my weather level from hobbyist to enthusiast in the past few weeks. I used to only track snow events but here lately I’ve found myself tracking rain events as well. Man I’ve come a long way

Anyone else feel like twitter should just ban Judah ???

If this winter ends up going down the tubes while getting a major SSW during first week of January he will get trolled so mercilessly. But, if we do flip to deep cold/blocking later on in winter he will be put himself on Rushmore.

I know I am tired of the strat talk too, mainly because it's been years since it's benefitted us in the snow department. I still look at it though, it is interesting.

The weather pattern is sucking quite a bit, for winter weather lovers, for the foreseeable future, but I will get a lot of gratification out of watching Clemson get their but kicked by Bama!! Roll Tide!

I feel bad for those that did not see much snow in NC with the early December storm. It feels like getting a big snow in NC with the first real storm of winter means we will get shut out the rest of the time. Trying to remember what the winter of 2010-2011 was like after the big Christmas storm. I don't recall getting much of anything after that one the rest of winter.

I know we had a massive storm here just 2 weeks later then a small one in Feb plus the Christmas 4 inches. For now I'm just going to sit back and watch until the pattern becomes favorable for an actual storm. Until then the model chaos continues.

Anyway, after scraping myself off from cliff diving yesterday (for a sports reason), I feel better after that melt.

10/11 had another significant winter storm outside Christmas but it missed making a major impact on Raleigh. That's the reason why none of us in Georgia need to cliff jump for the entire winter, if we can manage to FINALLY get a good pattern later, what's to say that we can't get a winter storm that has more impacts in Georgia (and Alabama for that matter) than North Carolina? Like 1/10/11?

Hopefully we can go from death ridge to cold storm suppression sometime late in the month. I still have a hunch February will deliver the package

That’s very doable assuming the MJO progresses counterclockwise to the left side of circle and the solid -AO comes back like the GEFS continues to hint at.

Some got another storm just a few weeks later. We got the shaft in a supreme way.

The package is coming to your front door, it’s a brown paper bag and it’s on fire!! Just like the rest of winter!
