Queing Mack's melt down by 00z tonight in 3 .. 2 ... right now its fresh cold, soon it will be healing skies.

THE HUMANITY.
The fv3 will save us!! No worries

Because the CAD was stronger.. Colder temps just above. That's why Jim Cantore left Columbia and went to Augusta, because the catastrophic ice storm forecasted shifted to the South.

Eh idek I was sounding the alarms for my parents in Augusta before any late shift. It looked like all ice before go and it was crazy there.

So for RDU we have the CMC/Euro/UK and now GFS that’s predominantly rain. Here’s to the FV holding serve. o_O

Seriously beginning to wonder if it will ever do anything in Columbia again winter weather wise. Feels like eternity since we've got to join in with the fun..

In fact, it's been since the Feb 2014, that was the last time Lexington and Richland county has been under a Winter storm warning... Sad.
Yeh I figured no one cared haha

That's not encouraging for us. I’d be happy if we managed to pull off an inch since we got no accumulation whatsoever in December 2017. I'd rather see the models back off now than on Friday...

RDU had a great snow in Dec 2010, other than that its been lots of near misses. I think this will end up be something that just affects north/west of here.

Someone mentioned earlier that Brevard, NC would do well with this system so there's no need to go to Boone, NC but TWC is calling for up to 20" in Boone and only up to 6" in Brevard, NC. I think if you're chasing this storm Boone would be the better option.
