Looks like a break this weekend to early next week, then back into the oven according to the Euro and GFS. Hopefully this is just a payment for a good winter. So when's this heatwave going to end?

I guess this is our punishment for having a relatively tolerable summer.Looks like a break this weekend to early next week, then back into the oven according to the Euro and GFS. Hopefully this is just a payment for a good winter.
So, when is this "mini-ice age" they keep talking about finally going to pay off? Probably around winter 2030-31?That's just brutal to look at. This has no doubt been the warmest decade of winters in my lifetime. Hopefully we can close out the decade with some cooler winters. Hopefully some snow too. Going on 4 years with little to no snow in ATL.
So when's this heatwave going to end?

Its almost October and it was 75 this morning, going to be 90 the next 2 days with more 80s to near 90 in the extended. I'm tired of waiting a little longer, it's all we do in the south.Come on guys LOL, i know its been warm lately but our cool air is coming. Just hang on tight little more patients. At least we already been in the 50s few week back when Irma made her approached.
There is a shortage of available houses on the market, creating a sellers market and driving up prices. It's not the best time to be looking to buy, but a great time to be looking to sell.I swear home prices have gone through the roof. Looking to buy something not in a cookie cutter neighborhood with more than 1/50th of an acre and the best I can find is 30 miles away. Ugh
I mean $350,000 for a home, what the hell is wrong with people. How do you afford that!? Blows my mind

I assume you are exaggerating as my all time high in December is 76 degrees. In fact the latest my area has experienced 80 or above was November 11th 2002. I am further north then most on this board but I still can’t imagine 80s are common in December even in Georgia.Expecting 80s for most of November /December! Has become the norm
you are further north than most on the board but your area also seems to have more extreme heat than places like North GA. You just have more extreme weather in general.I assume you are exaggerating as my all time high in December is 76 degrees. No kidding!! I was just outside watching the ISS flyover and I've got several skeeter bites. I was only out there about 10 minutes.Whats the deal with all of these skeeters ? I thought skeeters liked warm, wet weather not dry weather !

Roy Moore wins the GOP primary runoff in AL. Thoughts ?
I've heard that about the northern tier. My neighbors are from Minnesota, and they tell stories all the time about the skeeters, flies (including biting flies), etc. up there. NO THANKS! And no thanks to palmettos, either. The worse (worst) 'skeeters ever are found on the UP of Michigan (unless you go salmon fishing in Alaska) ... it's not just a southern thing ...... now palmetto bugs and chiggers ... we got 'em covered ...

Strange couldn't win because of his association with ousted governor Robert Bentley (aka Luv Gov), and also all the 'paid for by the Republican leadership fund (aka Mitch McConnell)' attack ads that were run leading up to the election.Roy Moore wins the GOP primary runoff in AL. Thoughts ?
I've found that Caladryl Clear works quite well on taming itchy skeeter bites.I was outside for 8 hours today so you can imagine how many skeeter bites I got![]()
I'll raise you one then - I'll predict we have to give back the little bit from the last couple of years ... since I bust a lot worse than you typically!I predict 0" for everyone
Since it always does the opposite of what I predict![]()
I cant imagine skeeters being worse in MN than in the south, especially considering skeeters love warm weather and thats not really a warm climate up there.I've heard that about the northern tier. Go to the upper mid-west around the lakes, from June to September, especially the UP, with no "Off" and PM me in 24 hours ... I'll FedEx you an emergency supply ...I cant imagine skeeters being worse in MN than in the south, especially considering skeeters love warm weather and thats not really a warm climate up there.
But at least they dont have to deal with skeeters as long as we doGo to the upper mid-west around the lakes, from June to September, especially the UP, with no "Off" and PM me in 24 hours ... I'll FedEx you an emergency supply ...

They can have record warmth up north and have a snowstorm at the same time.I also predict record warmth when I go on vacation up north in January/February![]()
yeah but you live in FL, which is basically the north.... and they are guaranteed snow ...
... but they talk so damn funny and eat such weird food ... there's trade-offs in life, everywhere, I suppose ... personally, deep down south is God's country, and I wouldn't trade it for anything - including our own variety of 'skeeters and palmetto bugs ...(and corn bread and grits and BBQ and collards and ...)

I refuse to flip a finger on this Board ...yeah but you live in FL, which is basically the north.
I look at those rankings that come out showing the best and worst states ( and happiest states ) to live in and just about every year the best states are in the north, particularly New England and states like MN and ND. Southern states always come in dead last.
