This one's a disaster at 850. That warm nose is massive and the energy isn't doing any favors unfortunately. Need to see better trends or this one's going to end a trainwreck.

Always want ss in front of ns. Its very close. But when ns can come in from behind, thats when the booms go off
Gotta love seeing the GFS where it is and then the Euro, CMC, and Icon being suppressed and colder.

I guess the EURO AI was similar but nothing else supports this. Not even its own ensembles

This will not do at all. The more this gets held back the more we get that warm stream from the south. This needs to either kick east better or dig more.
No confluence here but there’s some HP filling the void. Another mess incoming

Should have some wedging here to keep temps in check east of the mountains.
I wish things looked more like the Canadian and less like the gfs

Well at least its just cold rain and not freezing rain this time I suppose.
If we can get the core of our baja low east about 250-500 miles and leave everything else the same we are probably measuring double digit amounts
12z was sorta in between 18z/0z and 6z runs not too concerned really the storm signature is there the Temps are gonna be cold around event. We joke all the time about GFS notoriously losing stuff in mid range and honestly it's ain't lost it but it's sorta gonna a little bit all over place in past 24 hours

Onset Ice to Rain for the upstate which means it would be entirely Ice if this thing actually did what the GFS showed (it won't lol).

It’s unlikely to be cold rain if prior to the storm it’s below zero around West Virginia and upper teens across north-west NC. I bet this has more potential for ice ZR or even sleet for quite a few on this board.
