Wintry 1/9-12 Winter Potential Great Dane or Yorkie

Classic SE slop storm.
The street sledding down here would be epic. Half inch of zr and half inch of sleet. Me go very fast down steep county road, lol. Somewhere in there will be a mix of all three and that's the best. Maybe 50 miles wide. Mostly sleet and snow, with zr to glaze underneath. Perfect.

No. Next Thurs or Friday is time frame. Storm starts phasing rolling in 5.5 -6.5 days
Yeah, some of the slower solutions seemingly bring it in a day/day in a half later, around D7-8 (like the AI) , but the pieces to the puzzle are trending right around day 3-4. Getting more OBS hence probably why the quick shift with the energy, willing to bet the 00z ens pick up on it significantly more

The pattern is ripe but the details are still sketchy this far out. Caveat emptor.

5" to 10" snowfalls are such a rarity lately I just want to see the white of this storms eyes before I get excited.
Today you'd get snow and I'd get sleet, which would suit us both just fine, but who knows what the next few runs will bring. I want to see this 3 days out. So 20 or so runs to go. Right now it's 32, so it would be frozen if the stars were dropping moisture. It always gets cold in winter, but can we find the moisture to dance with? Looks good for 8 days out.

0Z ICON takes the storm in the perfect spot for southern Louisiana. I get a nice 2-3 inch storm. January 2018 was the last time I saw snow on the ground (half an inch) IMBY. Let's keep these good trends going!
I'm in the same situation here in South Central Georgia, I only had around 0.2 inches in January 2018 and haven't had an inch since February 12, 2010. The trends are great for both of our areas!

If you're interested in the coming attractions, the GFS is trending warmer/north with the Sunday night/Monday system. DCA has gone from mostly snow, to mostly mix, to mix changing to rain. Doesn't mean that's how next week's storm will trend except, of course it does because that's what always seems to happen.
