Wintry 1/9-12 Winter Potential Great Dane or Yorkie

Officially 0.10 of snow/sleet at CAE. We had a chance to do something awesome right at the beginning but switched to freezing rain. Decent glaze beginning to add up now. I’ve enjoyed the ups & downs of tracking this one with y’all! Look forward to doing it again soon. Enjoy the snow for everyone seeing it.

VERY LIGHT, snow/Rain Mix here in Surf City, Topsail Island (ON the Coast).. (Very small dendrites.. ) mixed with even lighter Rain..

Column just got saturated.. (Finally),

temps 36 w/a dew of 23F

@Shaggy & @lexxnchloe , seeing anything, (yet)??

My location has been rain and drizzle, elevated surfaces are melting as well. Driveways and sidewalks are clearing up. Not cold enough I believe for ice to form. I have fluctuated between 30 and 32 the past two hours with only melting as a result. Once the sun gets lower in the sky and heavier precip comes in things might change, as of now, no ice accrual.
Starting to see ice on tree branches. 31 and steady rain currently.

Drove from my office in GSO near the airport, to my house about 10 miles away and it got slick rapidly.. this was about an hour ago. Gotta believe it’s nasty out there now.

Temps hanging around 25. Very fine light snow the last couple hours, yards getting covered, roads are covered.
Yes, steady very fine snow about 10 miles SW of you. Hoping it thickens up after dark.

We fault the good fight but finally switched to sleet an hour ago and it's ripping. roads are completely covered with a sheet of ice. Got 2" of snow and probably pushing 0.25-0.5" of sleet. Folks to my west are saying ZR and I'm sitting at 27.5. That's plenty cold enough at these rates to get serious accretions.

I have lurked on weather forums to learn more and see the different models since 2010 and you are so right Stump. I just don’t understand it. Everyone outside of a 5 mile circumference of my house in Knightdale will get inches of snow and I will get a trace. Every single time.

I do not like how this is setting up for southern Wake County either. As of now my residence is reporting sleet and a temperature of 31.2 degrees. Sleet is already begin to stick to elevated surfaces. I hope this will change over to snow but I'm more worried about a quicker changeover to freezing rain in my location and possible power outage issues than I was before.
