Wintry 1/20 - 1/23 Winter Storm

Just got back in, still snowing as hard as ever. Not sure I timed the dealership part at the hardest, but oh well. My parents said it’s still snowing back in the Triad, too, although it’s definitely much lighter.

I found this on the way back. I swear I didn’t draw this. modernweenie

This is insane I went on a walk around our apartment .. everyone out playing in the snow so late .. people being dragged by cars on sleds .. truly everyone here is a kid again .. we easily have 4 inches here near the PNC arena in Raleigh .. absolutely puking snow .. truly a great winter we’re having

After the walk my hair was full of snow almost a half inch on my head … this snow is accumulating so fast in this band

BTW, did I see snow and FREEZING FOG obs at RDU....OMG I always wanted to be near freezing fog. Sounds so ominous! ?

Yep, it's great to see people out and about in the snow at midnight! I ran into a man using cross-country skis on my walk. Not sure if there was enough snow for skiing, but it looked like he was having fun!

WFO criteria and how different regions handle the impact will never cease to amaze me. Light to at times moderate snow, in Whistler they call this type of event flurries, I kid you not. A rare bird for us in the east, RDU at 23 with SN, looks like significant ZR along the coast, taking the wife to work just before daybreak and planning to get some shots around sunup, maybe clearing the driveway too.
