Yea I'm legitimately wondering about that. ILM has us wrapping up by 4am on their graphical products. The band is intensifying right now. This is the hardest it has snowed all day and the wind has gotten way worse.

First is the CoCo from Greenville radar and the second is from Raleigh. I’m no student of meteorology but it seems to me as they get closer together it would generate a blossoming of precipitation in the eastern parts of the Charlotte metro area.

Measured 12 7/8” on the snowboard at midnight, 5 miles wsw of PGV. County wide this is going to eclipse 2010 by several inches, likely the best snow for a good chunk of central Coastal Plain since 1980.

Getting fatter flakes here and they're sticking to vertical surfaces. Are we seriously getting a paste bomb at 16 degrees? Have mercy 👀
 
Going with a final total of 4.5” here, although it’s tough to get an accurate total with some of the blowing snow with these gusts. It’s so beautiful outside, though! Also, I love that the curbs on the road are covered! Some of our bigger snows don’t even achieve that depending on how warm the asphalt is going into the storm (sometimes, even a 6” storm only accumulates a couple inches on paved surfaces if it’s been warm prior to the storm)! I also didn’t see any grass blades peaking above the snow!! ☃️ ☃️ ☃️

Not our best case scenario by any means, but my personal best snow since 2015 and considering how catastrophic things looked this morning, I’ll take it!

Had an inch fall over the past 4 hours or so in very light snow, but heck, everything sticks of course when it’s nighttime and 17 degrees

I’m up to 9.0 now. @NBAcentel is stealing this last band that is working west from the coast. Moving west and it just ran into the Fro wall. So mean of him

😲 yep. I have several long driveways to clear tomorrow for people and if I don't keep mine at least marginally clear tonight it's going to be a giant pain tomorrow. These are all partially shaded with pines and will turn into a glacier tomorrow night if they aren't cleared in the morning so the sun can dry them off.

Seems probable. I've heard plows up and down SC9 tonight at times but no chance they get to the side roads. We should get pretty good evaporation tomorrow but those shaded areas are going to be a brick of ice Tuesday morning. That's if we even warm up enough to get real melting on Monday.
