Light snow picked up and I cant get over all the light powder blowing off the apt roofs here in Goose Creek. My goodness, thats a powdery snow. 20°, wind chills 3°!

Went out for a walk in one of the heavy bands. Very tough to measure given the wind but believe we are somewhere in the 4-5 in range.

Late start for Raleigh...but just measured ~2.7-3.0ish around my backyard. Radar looks beefy too. Noice.

I can hear the gusts inside the house. Gearing up to make a trip to my snowboard for a prelim measurement, but it’s still coming down at a good clip.

About 9 inches here in SouthPark area of CLT. Still snowing. Biggest snow in CLT in 22 years.
Not that it’s a big deal, but just stepped outside and it was spitting flurries lol. Where is this gasp of energy coming from

Seems like it’s wrapping up for the most part in Evans, GA. Had maybe 2” by sunset, but we were under an intense band for like 3 hours around 8 PM which pushed us over 4”! Getting some cool drifting and windswept snow action. Was a legit blizzard for about an hour. Measured 6” in some spots due to drifting/piling. What a day!

The former central NC snow hole managed to make it to 3-6" range. Impressive turnaround... and it's still snowing in many places, too.
With what’s coming up from the SE maybe the RGEM is right

This band is gonna push someplace to 20"
Flakes have grown quite large now, probably the largest I’ve ever seen below 25 degrees

Hrrr still going nuts.for us tonight. If.its half right we get another 5 inches on top. I think I'm one to 2 inches its blowing so bad it's hard to tell lol. If the band ong the border converges with a band near the cape fear and rotates though we are gonna have a good overnight period

Definitely something extra peaceful about snow in a string light glow. Calling it 10.5 in my neighborhood between South Park and Matthews. Picked up another half inch since 9 or so. Someone wake me if there are any more surprises.

I honestly can't tell how much has fallen, but I think we're gonna make a run towards 6''+ based what's fallen and just eyeballing the radar.

WCNC Charlotte Meteorologist just said the coastal low is indeed shoving moisture back toward CLT and we have persistent low-level snow which may last a couple more hours in CLT.

The Atlantic low is throwing moisture back really far west. The western edges of it are reaching my area which is causing my place to continue snowing. The snow was forecasted to wind down after a 9:00 band. It’s 11:30 and the snow is still going here. Image below is CoCo from Raleigh from 25 minutes ago

More accurate measurement on a flat parking lot. Alternating between 11.5” - 12.5”. I bet the grassy areas has like 13-14”. First time ever seeing a foot of snow, 2014 I only saw 11. And it’s still snowing heavily with smaller sized flakes. This is a first timer and an all timer here. Just an unbelievable event. It’s driving my internal wannabe MA weenie senses up to, making me hungrier then ever for more. But when it comes to complaining, won’t hear nothing from me for a while. Amazing storm, and something I will definitely tell my future kids and future grandkids.

I do believe we have finally completed the pivot. Moving to the grand, slow exit now. Although modeling keeps pushing our end here out, now to 1:30AM.
This is legit one of the GOATS in NC. And no mixing garbage for a soul. Straight powder Murphy to Manteo, which is wild in and of itself.

That coastal low saved the day for us in Wake County! I think the snow might last a little longer than the 2:00 AM cutoff time Raliegh NWS had in their briefing.
Surprisingly our winds haven't been too bad. Breezy yes but not crazy. I'm guessing we'll wind up with 6 or 7 in my neck of the woods.
Be almost 2 am before it quits snowing here per future radar. Not heavy, but will make 20 straight hours if that happens

It’s official a new Record has been set …. 13.5” Mooresville NC.
Feb 2004 (11.5) / Feb 2014 (12.5) and now Jan 2026 (13.5….for now)
It’s still snowing somehow but nothing on radar
