Finally some solid snow falling in the Creek. At work though.

Absolutely! The airport now has 0.1”+. This is the first time measurable snow fell two calendar years in a row since 1917-8!! We did have 2 winters in a row with measurable since then, but that was in the same year, 1989.

just measured 3” in two flat places
I think I'm out of the dry slot. It basically filled in over me. Snowing nicely now. All exposed surfaces are coated. Just hoping for a few inches at this point.

Gonna have to deal with some gaps in the band coming up from the south but been great so far....a solid 12ish hrs to go.

heavy snow finally pretty much came to an end shortly after my last post with a huge gust of west wind and blowing snow. Now just flurries/light snow. I got somewhere between 6 and 8 inches. I measured several areas...some were around 6 while a few were around 7. There are a few spots that i don't think melted much mid day that i will check in the morning. I know 8 fell from the sky but the mid day melting hurt the final accumulation. Insane scene all day. One for the books for my location. Was thinking 4 to 6 so i did better than i thought. There are some returns heading my way still so maybe i'll add a dusting to quarter/half inch.

Sheesh man that band looks wild. You know when the yellows start getting darker it’s getting insane. I bet you’re getting massive flakes
Just out of curiosity has seen any official measurement out Charlotte-Douglass? From what I’ve been seeing, Uptown has close to 8”, but I haven’t seen anything from the airport

Snow is picking up with 25-30 dbz returns pushing into eastern Wake County. Also promising filling upstream in Johnston County, too. This is going to get crazy fast.

For central NC, the dry slot slowly closing in. I think Harnett and Cumberland Counties are the last to close and will be the biggest losers of this otherwise historic snow event....amazing really.

This one will go down as my overall favorite. Just hitting all the best attributes: daytime snowfall, temps in the teens, near constant heavy rates, hitting jackpot, going to stay cold for a while, and getting snow off my driveway with the damn leaf blower!! Ahh!

A couple of 11.5” marks up in Landrum
Unless some of these later bands produce this was an under achievement. If not for that last band would’ve maybe broken an inch. Is what it is. It was a pretty snow to watch fall which is all I care about. That’s why I want more. Beats a cold rain.
i'm excited. i was out and about earlier and went to hampstead to see if it was sleet or snow. graupel.
i'm out around indochine and we've got a tight dusting. engagement ring diamond shaped graupel, very interesting
chili is simmering now, jwb is getting poured, 1in/hr rates coming in hot from calabash. good times
Trying to give additional optimism for us dry slot folks: I do like the way radar shows the bands tilting northwest, signs the trough is tilting negative now. I think we can enjoy some heavy bands for a few hours. I was just looking forward to watching it snow during the daytime for once!Light to moderate snow. I tried to see how close I could get to J Ville at around noon. Made it to Sneads Ferry before turning around cause it was getting a little too sketchy for my southern snow driving experience lol
Looks like our turn for some good snow is coming up. Me and my lady will be headed out for our next snow walk

Weird storm for our area. Savannah maybe getting more snow than us was not what was expected at this point.
The shower we got at the start on James Island has been the heaviest rates we have had. Lots of dry air intrusion
