Agree with this. Triad is having moderate/heavier side sleet right now. We may not get an inch of ice but with this going until 8-9pm the caution from the Mets were definitely warranted

Be grateful that it hasn’t been. I’d rather a forecast of ice bust to the lower end, 1” of ice is devastating

Honestly I’m grateful of what has transpired so far. We already have a good amount of sleet and some snow and sleet is heaviest it has been with 12 more hours to go. What I’m looking at now is a lot more pleasing than looking just a glazed over road with freezing rain on power lines.

He’s like any casual person that would watch the news. If they say we are supposed to get 3-6” of snow and we only get 3, ahhhh the weather people don’t know what they’re doing. Always overhyping. All of the upstate Mets said 0.5-1” of ice. So naturally people think that means 1” and nothing else. Besides it’s 8 in the morning. Anybody seen the radar back west and we’ve got people flipping to ZR in the upstate right now? This is the most premature victory lap I’ve ever seen
 
Yes we’ve dodged the bullet of the cold 925’s holding up longer than models showed. But have yall looked at the radar back west. That’s WAY more precip than most of these things showed and most people are flipping to ZR now. Thinking we are out of the woods yet is insane
 
Models get better but the wedge still over performs. You love to see it. I wish everyone could have turned to sleet.

Still 14 here, no sign of warmth. I haven’t measured but looked like about 2” of whatever it is that’s been falling.
 
Currently 25 with light freezing drizz;le/sprinkles/sleet pelot . The most dominant precip type i have had so far is sleet (yes!). Only a light glaze on the trees so far. Unfortunately here comes the steady light precip the models have been showing developing today.

Yeah, I’m interested to see how the heavy freezing rain will accrue. In one way, I think that some might run off. But on the other hand, the surface is so cold! Even with rising 2 meter temperatures, I think that we will have a glacier.

This is what we we’ve prepared for!
 
W-S is at 14/11 and my house is a little cooler at 13/10. Looks like about an inch of IP and SN on the ground and still going. I would not look for a changeover to ZR here until 2-3 this afternoon and it will continue likely all night. If you DO NOT have to get on the roads in the Triad, DON'T

I’m still holding at 19 degrees with a DP that’s actually fell a degree. I’m willing to bet I’m going to be in the low 20’s when that stuff out west comes through. This is going to be the ultimate test for accrual with moderate to heavy precip
