A lot of y’all need to look at when temps are supposed to cool down in Georgia before canceling this event lol
They watched models all week and then are surprised it’s 45 just as predicted on the ICONA lot of y’all need to look at when temps are supposed to cool down in Georgia before canceling this event lol
Almost 700.I’m sure this has been asked and answered before, but, what’s the highest amount of people that have ever been on this forum at one time?
I think the city of Atlanta will remain all rain. I think you will struggle to get down to 35 degrees. The wedge is not supplying enough cold and dry air to overcome the warm air advection. For all my ATL folks - how should I be expectation setting for ice in the city tonight? Everything I’m seeing is indicating a razor-thin margin for significant freezing rain or nothing but cold rain (and maybe not even that much of that). Even NWS is inconsistent in some of the different products they’re publishing. What does everyone think?
And 1228 in a single dayAlmost 700.

Nothing fun about a damn ice storm! If you were in my shoes with a dependant spouse you probably think differentit’s fun. I prefer snow, but any extreme weather brings excitement. Plus it’s been a really long time since we’ve seen a legit ice storm here.
I don’t care for an ice storm in and of itself but if it comes with sleet and / or snow that can change things. A little bit of ZR on top of snow can be cool, even if I’d rather it just be snow.Everyone assume no one likes an ice storm but that is not true. Some like all types of winter weather and extreme weather. We can’t change it so if it is going to happen might as well enjoy it.
DUSTIN I think it was you this was directed at quite a while ago “I hope you get an inch” of ice lol
Attach files, select the image, click insert when it comes back to the post, then full imageWay off topic banter: how does one insert an image so it’s visible and not a clickable link?
I used the photo icon and it just leaves a link
Allegedly we're going to get a bunch of isotropic upgrade and stuff and it will fill in rapidly as the storm approaches.I feel like this could be a much smaller deal than anticipated for the southern piedmont. I could be wrong but looking at radar, I think 80 percent of the qpf will be from the front passing. The rest is so far north and west. I’m not sure I’ll wake up in the morning and see any evidence of the storm yet.
