I think people are getting that desperate to see something frozen. Some of yall really wanted an ICE storm? Wow!
Snow or sleet! That's it!I think people are getting that desperate to see something frozen.
It's easily possible for the models to correct back the other way towards the colder solutions. Wouldn't be the first time (not to say it'll happen here). There's a lot of models run over the course of 7+ days, so you're going to see some runs go the other direction, generally.Have we seen a model do a major correction before? Honestly, I think the Euro will give a cold rain for ATL and an ice storm for Northeast GA.
0.11 for Atlanta... okay coolNow you get an ice storm! You get an ice storm! You get an ice storm!
Everybody gets an ice storm!
Nope, nope, nope, nope.

The Euro will correct itself but it more of a ice storm for the Carolinas instead of GA. I dont see 63 degrees may 39 to 42 for ATL.It's easily possible for the models to correct back the other way towards the colder solutions. Wouldn't be the first time (not to say it'll happen before). This is what a traditional icing map in the south would look like in years past. Now you get an ice storm! You get an ice storm! You get an ice storm!

Hell if I was Mitch I wouldn't dare have a look at the 0z suite. Not a chance I'd go so far as to pretend they didn't exist.Mitch gonna wake up then go back to bed
I would think that seems a bit extreme, too. However, sometimes the wedge boundary can have some pretty extreme temperature differences. I've seen it warm 20+ degrees over the course of an afternoon here before when the wedge gets worn away. The Euro will correct itself but it more of a ice storm for the Carolinas instead of GA. Will they allow you to return 20 gallons of kerosene? Asking for a friend.
Me too and there is no blocking. I can see it moving out of the area fast.I would think that seems a bit extreme, too. I'm in for the drive to Charlotte for a cold beer.Somebody earlier said they would buy everybody on here a beer if Charlotte got a cold rain. Sounds potentially expensive!
1/24/26Do we have analog for this?
I agree, I’m just trying to justify why anyone would want freezing rain.Snow or sleet! That's it!
I dont know either but today drained meI agree, I’m just trying to justify why anyone would want freezing rain.![]()
Did the storm already happen? It seems most modeling is still showing a significant winter storm for your area? The disastrous Euro run is probably the biggest ice storm there in decades.January Joke. I truly may lose my passion for weather after this. Biggest fail ever. Maybe we need to the the Canadian model more credit… or any model that shows the least snowiest outcome

I mean I don't hate ZR. It sucks in a lot of ways, but let's not act like snowstorms don't cause death and destruction, too. I don't really care for an all-ZR storm, but as part of a larger winter storm, it beats rain.I agree, I’m just trying to justify why anyone would want freezing rain.![]()

Hell yeah we did something the kids could tell their kids about..Some of yall really wanted an ICE storm? Wow!
I just realized I asked a stupid question because they EURO revised its whole life withn 24 hours.Have we seen a model do a major correction before? Honestly, I think the Euro will give a cold rain for ATL and an ice storm for Northeast GA.
