Misc General Banter Thread

Looks like that piece literally detaches from the TPV over Canada and splits west. When did the EURO decide to hang back the wrong piece of energy? This is the craziest thing Ive ever seen from both the UKMET AND EURO.
It’s always something, it was always going to be something, it always will be something. Texas, Nashville, Arkansas, Oklahoma and even Florida, oh and Myrtle Beach, get all the breaks to go their way every time but when it’s our turn, some random feature flies in from the top rope to ruin it. It may never snow in NC/upstate SC outside of the mountains again at this rate.

The board will never recover from this one. It’ll never be the same in here
It just further convinces me that the GFS is pure gutter trash. This board shouldn’t even mention it in banter threads anymore. It just got smoked by the Canadian model. The pure garbage it was spitting out for lows Tuesday morning was reason enough to toss it. It needs to be discontinued and the resources allocated elsewhere.

Its almost over folks. About time to give this up for good. If we can't snow with 1040 plus highs in ideal locations it can't happen anymore. No point in being here
Seriously, what is the purpose of tracking these things anymore. The models are completely useless and conventional wisdom doesn’t work anymore either. BTW, not one more dollar of taxpayer money should go towards the GFS. What a complete waste of resources.

Reactions: RSG
I was beginning to feel like I had been cheated from not getting heavy snow that long,
To worrying about a possible crippling ice storm,
To just cool rain maybe???

Supposed to help make a call on a major work event that’s taking place on Sunday in Atlanta. Earlier today I thought there was no doubt it needed to get cancelled but now I’m really not sure. Sigh this isn’t going to help with weather trust

What hour have you all claimed the models sometimes lose the storm to only bring it back? Are we in that hour range?
If my memory serves me correctly, that’s usually with the storm getting suppressed and then coming back. (Another piece of conventional/model wisdom that apparently only applies when it hurts NC/SC.)

It is wild how small distances can make such a big difference with these systems. Nothing like what you see in mountain areas with elevation, but still. Even now, I’ve got wet ground while not far off has a solid dusting / coating. I do live in a somewhat lower elevation area (~300-325 ft) comparatively speaking which can’t help in these super marginal situations.

Anyways, I’m off until Wednesday when I’ll check back in and go full-speed ahead with our next threat (assuming it doesn’t evaporate). I need a break lol.

Well, I made it until Wednesday by an hour before checking in again. Today, I heard from several folks about the impending snowmageddon, so I figured there's no point in ignoring this any longer. Time to model watch 24/7 until Saturday!!! :D

EDIT: I see the Euro has driven a needle into our eyes tonight.
