Nope. The question now becomes how warm, and will there be any type of severe weather. It is truly amazing how utterly worthless the GFS is.I am not betting against the EURO!
Still looks like it manages to ice up NC based on early mapsSo what’s the ice situation looking like on the euro?
It’s always something, it was always going to be something, it always will be something. Texas, Nashville, Arkansas, Oklahoma and even Florida, oh and Myrtle Beach, get all the breaks to go their way every time but when it’s our turn, some random feature flies in from the top rope to ruin it. It may never snow in NC/upstate SC outside of the mountains again at this rate.Looks like that piece literally detaches from the TPV over Canada and splits west. When did the EURO decide to hang back the wrong piece of energy? This is the craziest thing Ive ever seen from both the UKMET AND EURO.
Feels like the aftermath of the red wedding in game of thrones in here…The board will never recover from this one. It’ll never be the same in here
Across all models and runs the one constant is a warm tongue up through South Central Alabama . Refuses to budge. The question is do I chase and where?
It just further convinces me that the GFS is pure gutter trash. This board shouldn’t even mention it in banter threads anymore. It just got smoked by the Canadian model. The pure garbage it was spitting out for lows Tuesday morning was reason enough to toss it. It needs to be discontinued and the resources allocated elsewhere. The board will never recover from this one. It’ll never be the same in here
I hopeHow far north does this go? Chicago?
Seriously, what is the purpose of tracking these things anymore. The models are completely useless and conventional wisdom doesn’t work anymore either. BTW, not one more dollar of taxpayer money should go towards the GFS. What a complete waste of resources. Its almost over folks. About time to give this up for good. If we can't snow with 1040 plus highs in ideal locations it can't happen anymore. No point in being here
Yep. I'm 80 miles south of there. Might as well add to my 2 foot seasonal total..lolI hope
62 in Atlanta and 37 in Alpharetta ? No way. That “physically impossible” UKMET output is now on the ECMWF too..

At this point I'm rooting for Montreal. How far north does this go? Chicago?
Completely feasible, but it will more likely be 60s well further north until upstate SC where they will get some 30s and 40s62 in Atlanta and 37 in Alpharetta ? No way.
Was the HP strong?Completely feasible, but it will more likely be 60s well further north until upstate SC where they will get some 30s and 40s
I’m off my PC now, so I’m not sure. I assume it was probably strong, but modeled much further north where the CMC had it.Was the HP strong?
I never trust the ICON and GFS is on its own.I’m off my PC now, so I’m not sure. I assume it was probably strong, but modeled much further north where the CMC had it.
If my memory serves me correctly, that’s usually with the storm getting suppressed and then coming back. (Another piece of conventional/model wisdom that apparently only applies when it hurts NC/SC.)What hour have you all claimed the models sometimes lose the storm to only bring it back? Are we in that hour range?
Beyond that range man! Beyond!!!What hour have you all claimed the models sometimes lose the storm to only bring it back? Are we in that hour range?

It is wild how small distances can make such a big difference with these systems. Nothing like what you see in mountain areas with elevation, but still. Even now, I’ve got wet ground while not far off has a solid dusting / coating. I do live in a somewhat lower elevation area (~300-325 ft) comparatively speaking which can’t help in these super marginal situations.
Anyways, I’m off until Wednesday when I’ll check back in and go full-speed ahead with our next threat (assuming it doesn’t evaporate). I need a break lol.
I’m honestly shocked the Icon didn’t fall in line with the other 3 by now, it’s generally a good model.I never trust the ICON and GFS is on its own.
