Might get the first snow up in the mountains this week.
There are 2.05 inches in the rain gauge here in overcrowded Wake County near Lake Wheeler. This combination one/two punch from the upper level low and the coastal low moving up the coast has put a damper on drought concerns for now. If this setup would happen three months later on the calendar, we would have a snowstorm to write home about.

Haha just to see the words after all the 80s and even a couple 90s this month
All day rain and maxed at 53 today. Looking forward to checking out the Newfound Gap and Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome) webcams in the morning as they should get around 1/2" of snow later tonight.

As Predicted: Greensboro will finish October BN on temps for the 3rd consecutive month in a row. Also BN on qpf. Avg qpf is 2.90 and looks like the ole airport will check out with 1.56.
November will make the 4th month in a row of BN on temps when the turkey gets carved in 4 weeks. Bet the streak this winter.

The drought in Georgia continues to worsen. 13% of the state now in an Extreme Drought. Last week it was 9%. 
Flakes on the Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome) webcam. 
Leconte Lodge posted earlier this morning showing a good coating.

This is Thanksgiving weather come a month early. Day after day of drizzle and clouds mixed in with a gulf tap storm or two. Maybe we get a good ip/sn pattern before XMas day. Then the blizzard redux, lol. I love this time of year, when you can dream big, before climo swats you down.
Not a bad five day stretch considering I haven't seen any 30s yet.

I dunno it's just been a weird month to me everyone is freaking out about this front and acting like it's something unusual I'm like guys November is tomorrow... We've had snow reported by now in a couple years. Like it's time to get moving with a simple average cold front

A lot of people know my opinion, we (I) don't want central/eastern US troughing in late October into mid-November. We want that to setup near(er) to Thanksgiving. I feel that signals the prominent winter pattern. And you always want to start off the meteorological winter season positive (cold). Yeah I will say im seeing a lot of optimism about later in November. We will see
I figure most of the winter will be after Christmas at least here. It has been for years
