Pattern Octoburn

Been running the infrared heater in the room at night a lot here lately. It’s not every October I get to do that.
Yeah, we've been running our (electric heater) fire logs the last couple of nights. They are barely doing the job.

whoops meant to post here not nov 25

here comes our wudge building in this morning.

NBM and EPS aren't too bad for many on this board precip-wise. I'm personally fairly bullish on a nice little rain for my area peaking tomorrow morning, we'll have nice isentropic lift and a couple different mechanisms for precip going our way, but that is less true the further east you get in the Carolinas through midweek. don't be surprised if a decent rain shield falters some east of I-77ish tomorrow once flow gets less pro-upglide

Having a hard time seeing Atlanta get near the 2 inches that's been forecasted for this current system.

I know some rain will develop in the morning but man it feels like another bust on the low end looking at the downstream radar. Maybe I’m just being impatient

First real CAD cold rain of the year is putting on a show. We didn’t get out of the 50’s yesterday. We had light showers yesterday evening that dropped the temp into the upper 40’s and with the heavier rain I’m sitting at 44 and a NE wind at 11mph

Be Thursday before Greensboro gets to 50 degrees above again.
Gonna feel the windchill tonight and Tuesday ( 30's). 15-30 mph gust while temps are stuck in mid 40's air/ with Rain falling. Bundle up.

Should be dumping 3-4 inches+ out of the rain gauge by Thursday evening

I’m not currently home, but I was thinking the same thing you did last night after that first wave didn’t really produce, but you’re right, it really came together. It looks like well over an inch already with more coming through.

as cad as cad can be

some SWNC/western upstate stations reporting over 2". I haven't had a break to go pour out the rain gauge but i'm guessing we've put on at least 0.75" since i dumped 1" earlier this morning. wednesday night could be another 0.5-1" here with more on the ridgetops.

beyond our big ULL thu, there's not much to believe anything other than BN highs will continue. huzzah

I went to Goldsboro for my father in law's funeral today and fortunately the rain held off until it was over but there was a stiff northeast breeze and conditions were not optimal for outdoor activities. The much need rain we are receiving started coming down on the drive home and at my residence near Lake Wheeler in Raleigh we have received 1.06 inches of rain so far.

My condolences.

Thank you for your condolences! My father in law was diagnosed with throat cancer two years ago and it finally got the best of him. My wife and her family had been expecting this to happen for some time now and are handling this situation very well. My wife and I have both lost
our fathers in 2025.
