Quite a variety here the past 2 days. Got up into the mid 50’s yesterday. Woke up to a very chilly and windy morning with clouds increasing. It warmed up again before the precip started about 2 hours ago. The fun stuff will happen after midnight if at all.

I'm not sure I've ever seen the NWS here mention frostbite before :eek:

To think it wasnt that many weeks ago it was 90 degrees and people wondered if we would ever get cold

Seems like a lot of reports of snow falling in northern SC moving southward kinda. But nothing on radar at all. Hmmm.

If we can just get some flurries to blow south into Birmingham to kill that tradition of no more snow after the first one lol. It’s definitely a thick covering of clouds out here in Cherokee. 26 degrees. Wouldn’t shock me to see a few flurries spit out as the night progresses.

Flurries here in southern upstate. Keep the flood lights on
 
HRRR insistent on a period of mixed precipitation along the SC coastal counties between 05z and 09z. Temperature has dropped below freezing with a 10° dewpoint. A lot of low level dry air to overcome now

What exactly is causing the unexpected snow flurries? Seeing photos online of some decent size flakes and light accumulations northeast of Atlanta.

It's weird because the flakes 're getting larger and there is still a lot more to go. May get a measurable trace.
