What happens to car prices as the industry adjusts to the tariffs and tries to get themselves in position to increase domestic capacity?

so like another poster said the prices can’t get much worse than they have been but honestly sounds like a great problem for a company to have.

Some charts do lie. This one isn’t complete.

Not all states are done reporting. California is only about 50% so it’s missing around 5 million Harris voters there.

Not saying she will get up to the 81 million, but should be low 70s.
 
At least we are chipping away at NC. No more veto override powers. Stein will be a good governor and Jeff Jackson will be lined up ready to go in 8 years.

My coworker right on cue this morning came out and said "now that trumps won maybe we'll get a raise"........as if trump controls that.

I simply told him to look around at all the stuff we distribute that's not made in America. Then asked where our raise money comes from once the prices on all.those goods goes up.

He said "China is gonna pay the tariffs"
 
I think something a lot of pundits and people won’t think about is maybe Americans know that he can’t do everything he promises? Maybe people voting for him want someone who is at least going to try to make their lives better instead of saying it’s really not that bad like the Harris campaign said? Yes, manufacturing probably won’t come back to the states but if he can bring even a small amount of manufacturing back then he tried. Independents vote based on emotion and if they believe he is at least gonna try to make changes for the better then that explains last night

The first thing he needs to address is the border followed by cleaning up the 3 letter agencies that are corrupt to the core. If he doesn't gut it at the top he is just going to face the same obstacles he did the first term. That's the part of the swamp that needs to be scrubbed. At some point he will, or I hope he will put UAP disclosure at the forefront. I know he was read in his first term and he mentioned on Joe Rogan it was the question people asked the most while out campaigning. This is a very big deal that most american's are asleep on because they just aren't aware of what is going on above them

Well I have said on here we need voter ID and illegals off the registry, but the liberals and DOJ don’t support it. So those two groups are to blame. How can I feel any bit of sorrow when they reject the solution because they think that it going unsolved helps them out.

The best conclusion you can come to if that bar chart is all you have to go off of is 2020 stands out. That is all I gather from that chart and all that can be gathered without a better analysis.

Does make one wonder if certain areas were counted multiple times and those areas were democratic favored. I know Georgia definitely watched their election a lot closer this time.

In all likelihood, he will pardon himself from those felonies once back in office.

That said, if Marchan and Bragg insists upon proceeding with the sentencing, it will cause a Constitutional crisis...

Those were state charges and convictions he might not be sentenced to anything major but those won't go away and he cannot pardon himself for those

Shaggy is correct here that they are state charges and he cannot pardon himself. However, the fact that the trial and charges are a mockery of the political and judicial systems, they will likely be thrown out upon appeal.

I’m so tired of hearing he’s a felon from shtlibs. It’s literally the only thing they have left. These charges need to be dropped from where they came from.

I stand corrected, and I agree.

He can pardon himself of the federal charges though.
 
I've watched a lot of rallies and read a lot of Trump's proposed policy.

I heard him say the other day in Michigan that if you buy a car manufactured in the USA, you will not pay taxes/get a tax credit for doing so.

Will it work so easily, I don't know. Just passing it along.

You can reduce the tariff burden by utilizing the inverted tariff structure. Import all of the parts/raw materials into the US, assemble the finished goods within a US FTZ then sell the item domestically with only a single tariff placed on that single good vs tariffs imposed on all goods used. This keeps the COGS down on items vs the ballooning effect of having to pay a tariff on all parts of the whole. Personally I don't think we see a flat tariff without some type of adjustments to taxes to offset income vs outputs or there being some other type of offset.

I wouldn't be shocked if a flat tariff never happens. There are still a lot of unanswered questions around the 10-20% that was said imo that I haven't found the answer to. Is it a +10% on the existing tariff or is it only to 10. In a lot of cases if it's only going to 10% that's not a significant increase since many items have existing tariffs in the 5-8% range. What is going to happen to items like clothing that generally average over 10 do they come back to 10? That would be a big win for non domestic producers. What happens to antidumping tariffs? If they go back to 10 that would likely make non domestic producers cheaper.

The original trump tariffs on China didn't have as huge of an impact since many American producers were already looking at other SE Asian suppliers so they are werent single sourced anyway. In a backward way it probably helped with the covid lockdowns since many businesses had started to source from other countries which meant they were able to still import goods while China was locked down.

I know this is a TLDR post but I think that getting more info on how any tariff would be imposed is what we really need before drawing conclusions
