Don’t do this to yourself, Brent! I think it is best to keep expectations low especially when most expectations are actually pretty low. Then the worst thing that could happen is that low expectations are met. You’ll be taking trips, regardless.

I know but it's like I also said the trips still can't replace snow at home 🤣

Baptist state association with Samaritans purse has gotten everything coordinated much better.
My church is partnered with a few others. Our area is
First Baptist Church Arden
First Baptist Church Hendersonville
First Baptist Boone
Perkinsvilke Baptist Boone.
We just sent a tanker load of Diesel up for big generators.
The donation request have switched . Anyone donating today through Wed its canned meat like tuna chicken and Gatoraide. Flips after Wednesday to Bennadryl ,Blankets. Only new store bought items as always.
Ive never seen the volume of bottled water going up 421 as yesterday. In addition 100s of atv, bobcats,mini excavators. They got for the time being plenty of bottled water,baby diapers wipes ,formula. May could use some of the larger size diapers still

If you want to day volunteer, samaritans purse is your best bet, like give a weekend day. You can register online. Take a morning or afternoon session / or both. Mudout,debri pickup,chainsaw is whats being done currently. The feedings and handing out supplies is mostly covered.
Yesterday in Boone at the 7:30 session I witnessed 500+ volunteers go out and as many told to come back for the after lunch session. They have crew leaders that take you to sites in need. Well ran an coordinated.

This is Heartbreaking situation and will no doubt be a year long disaster recovery. Get involved. Speaking for NC Baptist and Samaritans purse, all the money and donations go straight to folks. The money is really needed and being used on this one to fuel generators, Helli's etc. Thanks in advance to getting involved. A nickle,dime, or half a day volunteering collectively goes a long way.

Next weekend may get a little warm again at least here (low 80s) but it seems short lived

Actual surface (2m) temps are showing lots of 40s in the lower elevations. But, if we can get some good radiational cooling, maybe we can see our first frost in some areas.

As long as everything stays as is we will see a lot of 30s longer nights and dews that low should do 30s easily west of 95 outside of the urban centers
 
54.5F this morning, only the second low below 60 this season. Looks like the lee side of the mountains have to wait for the airmass to move east and come in with northeast winds.
