Give it a rest already....... He was disrespectful and condescending. This has nothing to do with whether or not I agree with his forecasts.... And yes, I was on WWBB and American for many years. matter of fact, I still post over on American.Okay well imagine he sits here and tries to talk to you about how you’re wrong with something in your field of expertise. Is his opinion as valid as yours?
My point is not all opinions hold the same value and all are definitely not equal. Certainly I do respect your opinions as I think you have valuable knowledge. I do not think this is political but as someone who is an information science professional, there has been a war on expertise like we’ve never seen in this country since social media increased in prevalence.
I’ve been around these boards for twenty years and I believe I have a good handle on why so many flourished and part of that is having those experts around and us being respectful of their time and expertise. Of course, your post would’ve likely meant you would’ve had a short run on WWBB and the ilk.
The elusive pattern change is finally here! Mega March incoming…CFS was a fun fantasy run last nights. Start with hour 576 and proceed to the end. It shows 2 to 3 storms for much of the south.

What county? Never heard of a Gerton NCDoes Gerton, NC get a good amount of snow? Rented a cabin there last weekend of January.

There's a new search engine titled "Google." ?Does Gerton, NC get a good amount of snow? Rented a cabin there last weekend of January.
I agree you don't have to have a good pattern to get a winter Storm. All you need is Cold air in place and a southern LP system. I've seen us get 6" of snow with a Low temp of 37° after being 60 just few days before. Cold Patterns are Great but not needed. Some don't understand thatAll the fretting about a good pattern or a bad pattern for snow is funny to me. It's gonna do what it's gonna do around here. We've been in the 70s in January one week and had a big snowstorm the next. Just enjoy the ride.
Grit tweeted it’s going to snow early Jan…at least that’s how I interpreted it. ?
Get the snow shovels ready. ?
It's getting annoyingI swear people on social get turned on by posting NO CHANCE FOR A WHITE CHRISTMAS graphics
So that's where all our Feb snow went during the last El Nino ?
It gets easier after the acceptance phase.Maybe some year it will snow again

I agree I don’t care if it’s 70 most of the winter just want or two good snows in between then it can get back to warm.Hey, if it's not going to snow, may as well save money on the electric bills and get an early start to the growing season. I remember that cold snap last year that came in just to ruin farmer's plans though.
More 50s and 60s, maybe some 80s!
I'll just put it in here. So many get bent out of shape about those words. Warmest years on record for CLT. Every single year since 2015 made the list except 2022. It's not a debate and not worth arguing with the deniers. The only thing debatable is the cause. There's an entire thread board for this you know
Keep believing that. It's simply not true. You've fallen to around a 5 inch yearly average per decade since the 90s. And that's with the big storms in the early 2000s. Going from 8 to 7 to 5 seems small but that's close to 30%I've been around almost 50yrs and the last 25 had way more snow than the first 25. I'll take the new climate
Of the 5 biggest snows I've seen, 4 were after 2000. 1988 is barely top 5 and then a few 6-8in storms were also after 2000.Keep believing that. It's simply not true. So after 100yrs our average went from 5.6 to 5.0?Keep believing that. It's simply not true. You've fallen to around a 5 inch yearly average per decade since the 90s. And that's with the big storms in the early 2000s. Going from 8 to 7 to 5 seems small but that's close to 30%

Well I hope you get another 6-8 inch storm this year too. But averages are falling down south and increasing up north. Very consistent with a warming climate.Of the 5 biggest snows I've seen, 4 were after 2000. 1988 is barely top 5 and then a few 6-8in storms were also after 2000.
And no dude you clearly have no idea what you're looking at or how to interpret it. You've lost about 40% of your snowfall over the last 30 years compared to the 30 years prior. Have a good day sirSo after 100yrs our average went from 5.6 to 5.0?
