Learning Global Warming facts and fiction

It's always interesting that historical data that doesn't support warming is "suspect" or "not reliable" but historical temperature and co2 records are iron clad. Probably means nothing. But it's interesting.

The instruments themselves, the types of platforms they were put on (whether it be ships, balloons, ground, etc.), siting locations, coverage, frequency of reporting, (even the time of the day when measurements were made), and uncertainty in those have changed a lot over time. Historical tempreature data is by no means iron clad, but the level of warming that's occurred is way, way outside the uncertainty ranges considering all of these factors + other random variables. Even in the last several decades, where coverage + reliability of data is good, we are significantly warming without a doubt, no matter what you're using to measure temperature (Radiosondes, satellites, surface stations, ships, buoys, etc.)

Other unambiguous indicators of warming that aren't subject to these sort of caveats because ice always melts at roughly the same temperature, including sea + land ice extent, only reinforce the fact that the Earth is undeniably getting warmer.

WASHINGTON, September 7, 2022 – The World Bank Group delivered a record $31.7 billion in fiscal year 2022 (FY22) to help countries address climate change. This is a 19% increase from the $26.6 billion all-time high in financing reached in the previous fiscal year. Aka follow the money.

Where and when has this happened? Also, build some A/C units, man! Also, stop building in flood zones.
In Europe in 2022. 20,000 excess deaths. I was visiting London this summer during the heatwave. No A/Cs in the city. Expecting people in areas that historically never experience 100+ degree days to go out and spend thousands on an A/C is real ironic given your comments about EVs.

Because authorities do not attribute most deaths directly to heat, statisticians use the excess formula to give an estimate, looking at how many more people died in a given period than would be expected compared with a historical baseline. Not good data.

Those are more likely vaccine deaths, but whatever, it says "may have" so it's propaganda.

It's not perfect, but it shows a correlation between extreme heat and deaths. Seems like common sense that extreme heat would lead to more deaths, but I guess not to you. Have any better ideas about how to measure heat-related impacts?

Lol. Of course that's your response. Any evidence to back that up?
There's no evidence to back any of it up. I'm making a joke, here. You can add "may have" to any claim and get off without any criticism. The tree that died in my backyard "may have" been poisoned by aliens. I saw strange lights at night and heard loud booms. Got to be aliens. Prove me wrong.

Not really perfect at all but throwing out a high number to get clicks is fake news especially when they don’t have a proven process or correct number. But saying 67 people died wouldn’t turn the meter would it?

Sorry, couldn't tell if it was a joke or not after seeing come of the crazy things some people on here.

Lol Reuter's is fake news now? Even if it said 67 it still proves that people are dying from extreme heat, which is my point.

Record heat strokes leading to immediate death and maybe heart failure from working in the heat? What else about the heat would kill you? dehydration but that's readily avoidable if you are in a modern society. You don't die from being in temperatures above 95 degrees for two days when you are used to 65 to 75 degree temps. It wasn't the Saharan Desert type of environment and it wasn't that long. It's uncomfortable but not necessarily deadly. How much has the cold killed? Much more deadly to be exposed to extreme cold. You can't heat your body as easily as you can cool it down.

Yeah we got a long way to go to become sustainable civilization. We can't keep using landfills forever. We need to use stuff that either can be repaired and used over and over or can be recycled using clean energy. We also all need to become vegetarians. Cattle is very bad for the environment. We also need clean energy for travel like hydrogen fuel or some advanced technology that the government is holding out on us. Take a look at the descriptions folks give of the inside of an ET craft. Very minimalistic. You won't find a Cheerio box laying around or a trash bin. Everything has a purpose and is designed to perfection.

Nah .... You be you. I'll make my own decisions.

Matter of fact I literally just set out a 10oz Tbone to "rest" before I grill in a little bit. YUM
