I don't think people have a proper appreciation for the food price risk that we are facing. I'm not sure what western leadership's end goal is here, but if it is to maximize the pain felt by their constituents, then they are getting very close to achieving that goal.

I mean its not like this is some nefarious plot by western nations to create a food/energy crisis in their nations by getting Ukraine and Russia to fight......and they probably dont have "end goals" other than limit the conflict and have it end as soon as possible without escalating it into global thermonuclear war.....

Have to agree with Rubio here. The fear of Puttin unpredictably and desperation will be as heightned as it ever will be over the next couple of weeks.
Yeah, I’ve always thought that if Russia starts to lose this war conventionally that may be the most dangerous situation since I don’t think tactical nuclear weapons are off the table. If Putin loses this war, it may be it for him, and he’s not going down without fighting.

So many angles here, Russia turns a blind eye to Israel lighting up Iranian weapon shipments to Syria, the Nuclear deal pending and obviously the thousand pound elephant in the room, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine both trust Israel so I would not discount them playing a moderator. Israel is usually tight lipped so I’m not sure how many details of the meeting will be released.

It's much more about incompetence than some secret conspiracy. That's not what I was getting at. I guess we'll be happy to pay $5+ for gas and $6 for a loaf of bread because at least we're not getting nuked.

I get it, but I mean at some point you gotta make that kind of call, what is the acceptable amount of risk you think our leaders should take to prevent $5 gas and $6 bread.

Unconfirmed reports this could be a Ukrainian missile intercept. Belgorod Russia is about 25 miles from the Ukrainian boarder.

Also, could be a ploy by Russia to claim a Ukrainian attack against Russian soil.

More likely it was a failed Russian launch of a Smerch targeted at Kharkiv....

I would probably start by not antagonizing Russia all the time. Russia is not a good actor by any stretch. But now we're all in quite the pickle, aren't we? We and the world depend on them and Ukraine for things we need. It's as though there is no foresight into anything that leads anybody to any sort of activity that would mitigate risk. It's all reactionary and bombastic rhetoric.

How are we antagonizing Russia all the time......we cant tell nations sorry we wont allow you into our ring of protection because it might upset Putin, who if he would not be a giant ---- might not make those nations think they need protection.

We’ve been antagonizing Russia since 2016 and now some of us are wondering why it’s all coming to a head now lol

We and western Europe depend on Russia because of the global warming religion....woops! Should put this in everything religions, global warming or political thread.

Note they are not taking the ------ Russian ATM and guns.....though they should frag that stuff of they are not going to use it.

The coldest wx in Ukraine since January is on the way for Wed-Fri. Kyiv is headed for teens lows for 2-3 days and highs in the 20s for 2-3 days due to Arctic air coming down from Russia. coldest it got in Feb was ~26 as it has been mild relative to normals for over a month:

Will be interesting if we see an increase in Russian surrenders as these under supplied cold hungry Russians get colder and hungrier.

Unfortunately it will also firm up the ground and make it easier for their vehicles to move about....
