Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

I must admit it's frustrating seeing cities with similar climo to central NC rack up 10-20" or even more snowfall in recent years. Why can't Raleigh ever have a historic winter in terms of snowfall? Parts of South Texas got like 10" last winter. Parts of Mississippi have seen big snowfalls lately too and most of MS has an average of less than 2". It's like we are still paying for the Carolina Crusher to this day, a shame I was only one year old then

Yeah its crazy. If South TX can get 10" in a winter, you would think Central NC could get 30" in a winter.

This is why we wanted the Operational models to be suppressed around Cuba until around the 72 hour mark. We have went from a overrunning event that had the cold front stalled out around North Central Flordia and possibly bring a widespread snow/sleet storm for Eastern and Central Carolinas to now watching the model amp up and losing another yet another winter storm to the Mid Atlantic States, while we are relying on another CAD to give us wintry preciptation(mostly ice). I knew this was going to happen as soon as we a trend towards stronger WAR and once I saw none of the models were really that suppressed.

So is Atlanta rain or Freezing rain/sleet with the 18z Euro? I was trying to follow but too many angry posters???

You thinking Euro to amped?
No it's probably right, but not for the reason you think. That model has bounced all over the place all winter long. The reason it's probably right is because the amped solution is almost always correct. The Euro just got lucky and got to it first this time. GFS got it last time. ICON probably get it next time.

I just want to see what 10" in a winter is like, it shouldn't take 18 years before Raleigh gets 10" of snow in one winter
That Wake County split has been strong for many years now. I've said this numerous times, it's been a long time since we've had a coastal plain special. I feel bad for my fellow south Wake County friends. Kind of funny, I still have some left over snow/sleet but just 10 miles to my SE (Wake Forest) nothing. That has happened a whole lot (especially down towards Raleigh) these past 10 years. Raleigh eastward is due!

Honestly I really enjoyed the snow I got this past weekend. It’s special. The sleet/ice does nothing for me. If that’s all this weekends storm has to offer is sleet and ice I’d rather it move on.
