2021 Banter Thread

Yeah even though Carolina's didn't see anything it really was a good winter in the southern portion of the US, just in Texas.. at least we know it can still snow at these latitudes.
It can most definitely snow at these latitudes, but can it still snow at these longitudes? ?

Hard pass ! Thought that massive cold dump probably would have been a bit more moderate had it dumped east. Not that a bit more moderate would not have smashed records .
I'm just curious to find out if we can get real wedges again.. wedges that bring freezing rain down to Columbia and Macon... I'm just not sure that can happen anymore.

To each their own I suppose
Just saying , you were sad about your crepe myrtles and Bermuda this spring ... had that cold blast hit us instead you would not have had any crepe myrtles or Bermuda to worry about in the spring .

Probably can happen . I just don’t think it ever was that common and y’all happened to grow in a time when it was a bit cooler and more likely to happen .

Yeah especially not as common in macon but I do remember it happening.. I remember snow storms in Northeast Georgia as a result of a wedge.. not even freezing rain but snow..

My stuff survived the 2018 cold far better than this springs freeze.

Dallas was below freezing during the February blast for twice as many hours as RDUs 2018 record .That’s nuts to me , Dallas has an average high near 60 in January but is capable of more extreme cold than Raleigh .

I'm sorry, but after what happened last hurricane season, the damage, and in recent years (Harvey, etc), and seeing stuff like "I hope it's another active season" is kind of shocking, TBH. I get the wanting weather to track, but at some point we need a break, especially when it comes to hurricane season.

Im sorry but after the widespread death and destruction caused by Februaries arctic blast I just think we deserve a torch of a winter. We need a break you know? The 2010s had some wild winters!

No need for a personal crusade. You arent going to persuade anyone to stop liking what they do, and again it would be pointless too as it has no affect on weather outcomes. You are just wasting your breath really.
Sorry, just frustrated.
