As of 3pm, for the first time this year, DFW has hit 90*F.

Had another round of rain. This one was heavier and lasted longer. Hope it washed away the remaining pollen.

The more I look at it the more I think we've got a good shot at severe over the weekend into next week.
I don’t like the 500mb winds out the west like that we often sneak little tornado setups with them 
Official high at DFW was 92*F, by far the hottest day of the year.
6z GFS for the next five days. It's one of the dryer models for the central NC area, but the way things have gone you have to believe it. I was lucky to get .13" yesterday.

There is speculation that is where the ridge will set up this summer.

I see our fantasy range heat and SE ridge was merely a mirage.
After May 15th the MJO will be fast tracking towards the warmer phases and will bring about a pattern change to warmer around the 20th. It's only the beginning of May, long lasting warmth doesn't really arrive until later in May per climo
Long lasting warmth should start late April early may ... always has really this year has had some notable longer lasting cool down way later than what would usually happen
