Just keep me w/in 3-5F of average from now till mid May and I'm thrilled. Summer's hot no matter what, so while I'm excited for freedom and storm szn, I'm a-ok with keeping the hottest temps at bay for as long as possible

In the upstate/CLT/north ga region yes , or at least my inner weenie says so.
Yep, 2012/2011 had nice summer storms tho, especially in July 2012 (not including the derecho)
So do Nina winters follow the same logic? And was this past DJF considered to be in a Nina state?

some areas in N/NE NC had lots of wind reports from it if I’m not mistaken
Ninas don’t work like they used to. Just look at this past winter.
Yeah I saw it was supposed to be warm and dry, but I was -0.9F for DJF as well as solidly AN for precip

Your second sentence is unnecessary to say, all you had to say was Roxboro and them scoring big is implicitly implied.
Yep, we ended up BN temps and AN precip, which are contrary to normal Nina trends, I think. But despite this our snowfall was putrid, which does fit the typical Nina, so at least winter still sucked as expected! Just in a different way than I thought.

I feel like our 850s may have had a top 5 record warm winter though.
Waiting for these sort of outlooks, until then I yawn
