Here’s an interesting feature I just saw pop up on the RAP ... usually the first model to pick up on small details then maybe the NAM or HRRR picks it up ... it almost looks like a lil meso low moving around the bend AFTER today when the second UL pinwheels thru .. keep an eye on this booger .. maybe something can happen with it I’ve noticed models haven’t been keeping up well with small areas of activity with this ULL ??

My pants are bursting over this beautiful convective shower with a nice updraft and anvil 
I’m salivating here in apex hoping that stuff can keep developing and move east for a surprise early start to the convective stuff
Snow/graupel here now with the sunrise to the east
Latest HRRR doesn’t have any of the developing stuff in Virginia and western NC right now ?

Almost an inch here so far. Bizarre situation overnight, when it snows moderately my temperature goes up a degree. When it backs off it falls a degree.

Lasted 5 minutes back up to 36 now, maybe another about to start. A little sun peaking out
Looking at COD, appears to be some sort of boundary draped over the Piedmont with low clouds north of it, might be the hotspot later, these exact same sort of setups work in the summer time as well along the edge of cloud decks

Very heavy snow here. Got a light dusting in 5 or 10 min...then it was over.

Despite the radar returns being nothing, the light flurry of a few flakes here and there has increased to a steadier flurry with a lot more flakes. Still all too small to do anything.

Yeah I know . It's graupeling in davidson just a couple miles south of me. I think it's because the precip is super light

some micro flurries here
