I know it is only July, but hey it is never too early to discuss winter.
Don't worry, the other board is already at it too, and other ones have been discussing it for months already.I know it is only July, but hey it is never too early to discuss winter.
Looking forward to this years discussion. Haven't seen measurable snow since February 2014. Been in these long droughts lately. 2011-2014 and now 2014-2018. Hopefully this year will be a great one like 2014 was!
Just something to keep in the back of your mind down the road, have to keep an eye on solar proton events (SPE) and Coronal Mass Ejections going into the latter portions of this upcoming fall and winter because they're usually followed by large +NAM (+AO/NAO) stints...

i think this year will be a better one for us for winter.I just hope we have a winter lmao. Been a rough couple of years(although we did have an hour of snow on the ground this year at least)![]()
The inner weenie part of me would certainly be content if we saw another warm neutral ENSO repeat like 1935-36 this year... One can hope right?

I see during the Feb. 21-22 storm some of Shane's ancestors were visiting Nash County, if you're not familiar with the counties of NC it's the donut hole in the eastern part surrounded by the 4-5 in totals LolThe inner weenie part of me would certainly be content if we saw another warm neutral ENSO repeat like 1935-36 this year... Bring your whip ... LOL
When are we happy?Just don't want the foot of snow falling on top of .50 of ice we had received a day earlier
Well that took our power out for 4 days. The foot of snow alone may not have did that. It was nice looking of course, but I didn't like being in the dark that long. When are we happy?
And you want a tropical system? They do the same thing down here (power out for 4 days), except it's 92º or more and no A/C for the duration; at least in winter you can fire up the wood and stay warm. Major 180º difference ...Well that took our power out for 4 days. The foot of snow alone may not have did that. It was nice looking of course, but I didn't like being in the dark that long.

Warm and dry
Sweetsnow plows were at DFW airport today to train for winter weather

I know, I was surprised Dallas even HAS snow plows. Apparently only got them after the 2011 debacle at the Super Bowl.

There is our first sign it will be a great winter! LOL. Too early to jump. I will jump in March if it hadn't snowed.I hope this doesn't cause mass cliff diving and other forms of suicide, if he means the winter that spanned 1971 into 1972 -
