Misc Sports Thread

I just realized how amazing August and September may be sports wise. NHL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR all going through labor day then the nfl jumping in the mix the 2nd weekend of September. Yes please

I was at the race on Wednesday with some friends I've managed to make NASCAR fans. Had a great time, sat up around the exit of 2. Great view of Keselowski spinning Kurt Busch early. I'm a #9 guy so I was real pumped.

Marlins pitching looking pretty solid in this Braves exhibition game. Folty looked absolutely horrible. Oh well.

As soon as I typed that, the Marlins pitchers collapse... lol I tell ya who looks good, Drew Waters. The Braves are loaded with outfield prospects.

I should have continued watching that exhibition instead of sulking over things that I can't control (it was over football recruiting). Too bad I didn't...

Hopefully Friday's OD lineup looks like this:

Acuna RF
Albies 2B
Freeman 1B
Ozuna LF
Adams DH
TDA C
Swanson SS
Riley 3B
Inciarte CF

I really was not a fan at all of seeing Inciarte in #6, I hope we don't see that in a couple days. Very nice lineup if things break right.

I know it was one game but watching Riley at the plate last night it didn’t seem like he’s made any adjustments. Still big holes in his swing.

There might not be much choice. From the last I've heard, Johan seems IL bound to start this year.

Edit: Which stinks against LHP. If I could, I'd pull both Adams and Ender vs them. If Johan is on the IL, that possibility is not there.

Got a text from a booster, college football to start in spring is looking likely... I was told something my be reported soon.... trying to make a few more calls before I believe it.

Honestly not optimistic that they get a spring season to work either, I do think a vaccine is coming sometime early in 2021 but this would be a logistical nightmare.

They might "talk" about having a spring season, but in the end, if they don't try what I've been hearing lately (10+1), I think the next time we see college football go is in fall 2021.

I truly hate so much that I feel that way, but I do.

From what I’m hearing even with a vaccine, no one will be taking it. I’ve heard this from folks who are 110% hardcore in favor of vaccination.

Well, I won't have a choice when one is approved (unless it happens much later than I think it will) or I'll probably get kicked out of the PN program.

Baseball really isn't that weird without fans to me. But I think a lot of it has to do with I sometimes don't listen to the broadcast. I think if you actually see college football go and do it without fans, that's one that's going to be strange. There's no getting around it.

The Marlins dunking on the Phillies without 3 of their starters was already pretty hilarious yesterday, if the news that I saw wasn't potentially very bad news for sports for the rest of this year, in that some players might have had the virus and were in the lineup for 1 more game, it makes it even more hilarious if you don't put aside that sports are in serious danger.

What?!? LMAO! do you realize there’s a pandemic and he can’t go visit these recruits? Lord have mercy
I literally just made a statement about how Kirby unlike some other coaches has dropped the ball on recruiting. Clemson and Alabama are still recruiting heavily even with the pandemic and if you look at 247 sports you will see them in the top 5 and Georgia at 16. Kirby hasn’t adjusted well to not having recruits visiting the school and that’s shows by only having 2 or 3 high quality likely commits left to get. That’s why for a Georgia to get a good class he needs visits to open up sometime this fall so he can flip some recruits or bring some like Korey Foreman into the fold.
