Political Free Zone (No Exceptions)

I bought a new construction home Acworth/Woodstock area in 1997. $124,900. Sold it in 2005 for $165,000 When I moved to NC. I saw where it sold last year for $289,900 ! Crazy
The housing market is wild these days. Bought a new construction 2.5 years ago and now seeing people in the neighborhood sell for almost 100k above what they paid blows my mind. If I can sell and legitimately walk away with 100K in my pocket you will see my location change on this site pretty soon. I just want to find 1 acre in a non neighborhood setting but that is like finding a unicorn unless I want to move 1-2 hours away from any potential employment

Nashville is even crazier. I’m over 20 miles south and in another county that is growing faster than Nashville. Of course property taxes increasing 32% in Nashville is driving that. My value of my home has doubled since 2006.

Man if it were me I would sell, use a % of the profit toward a new home, get a 15 year mortgage on the new home

Well I refinanced down to 15 already a few months ago and probably going to again. The interest rates are crazy low and I could refinance again down to a 10.
I love my house. Against woods no one can ever build behind me. To buy a new home is ridiculous around here right now. Average home with 2500 sq ft is $375k brick with only 1/2 acre. I have an acre. My house is worth $500k. Never ever thought I would have a house worth this much.

Hey if you love it that's all that matters in the end. I need to refinance my house too if I decide to stay.

Definitely you should if staying. They expect the rates to drop a little more. You can save some years and pay off debt with equity if need to.

Even Hoschton is starting to grow fairly large. With all the new warehouses along 85 in Braselton, it's only a matter of time before Buford extends there from the west, Winder from the south, and L'ville/Dacula from the SW.

I'm slowly watching Forsyth become a part of Atlanta. The southern half of the county pretty much already is, and it's creeping towards me. Time to move up to Dahlonega or even Blairsville.
True but it’s better than Loganville. It is growing but thankfully it’s still has open areas once you move away from 85. Unfortunately this is about the farthest I can go since I work in Atlanta.

I am in middle of my work area when I don’t travel for work. I am heading to Lexington today for 2 days. We hired a rep for me even though I was against it. Higher up said hire him. Worse time possible to hirer a new rep never been in outside sales. ??‍♂️ I said well he’s going to be on phone trying to sale real soon.

Zebulon and eastern wake county are saying hello! Very surprised your area doesn’t have that, should be easy to find what you are looking for in Harnett county

Ouch, crappy commute. I used to commute from Flowery Branch to right by where Suntrust/Truist Park is now (across the street from The Weather Channel). It was a special kind of hell. Did it for 6 months before I got a place 5 minutes away from work.

I really like where I am now, but it's starting to get a little expensive to live here. I'm renting now and rent is getting out of hand already. And of course it's nearly impossible to find an affordable house that isn't trash.

My sister and brother in law just bought a house in Wendell Falls and IMO payed way too much for having near zero acreage. I could stand in their front yard and spit on the neighboring houses.

I can walk with at least 100k now but my wife wants to wait another year. We need to strike while the iron is hot.

Any idea why, when I go to the NWS Rah homepage it shows the current weather for San Angelo, Tx?! I mean it does make me feel better about our current conditions but umm really?

I’m glad I’m not there neighbor then. No spit zone?

I hate Wendell falls. Another prime example of destroying small towns and countryside . They took the country and smacked an entire new town there. Now they are adding a strip mall anchored by a publix there. Now it’s a nice community but it got me mad. An eye sore in an otherwise country area. The houses there are super close as well.

Yeah I looked their but that .1-.2 acre lot deal blows. I don't seen why people like that living setup
