Severe Severe Threat April 5th-7th

So if i'm looking at the map correctly, it looks like the tornado parameters drop off significantly just north of Atlanta, so basically this will be an I-20 and south event ?
Not exactly. The models have that 3 hour frame that doesn't show everything. I would think that nowhere in North Georgia is out of the game yet.

Yeah, that's really the only model I've seen that has north ga in a safe zone. Hope it's right though

Welp, they are closing schools early here tomorrow now. Thanks crazy NAM. You really did it this time.
Thankfully it's spring break for most of the schools here. Couldn't imagine what traffic would be like if kids were to go to school with the 85 situation.

I no longer attend public school but my school system closes the first week of April every year regardless for break.

Yeah, which means families are out of town. Hopefully nothing really bad happens and nobody returns home to damage.
Yeah that would suck to have to come home early due to damage.

Glenn Burns posted a map that shows a high risk for tornadoes for much of north ga, except areas north and northeast of ATL. I'm assuming that's due to CAD ?

Not that this has anything to do with April 27th, but remember after the morning storms came through, a lot of people were out of power when the afternoon storms came in? Hopefully that's not the case tomorrow.

That's why you do it before hand to get the federal ball rolling . That way if there is damage government resources are already in place and there isn't a lot of waiting
Ah, okay. Makes sense.
I wonder why AL is under a State of Emergency but not GA ? Is it expected to be worse in AL ?
Maybe they are meeting about it right now, or they don't want to worry the public.

In AL, the governor issues a state of emergency early so the school systems can close for the day w/out the normal penalty. Not sure how it works in other states.
