Coronavirus (Stay on Topic)

The thing that concerns me most is that the Health Department told us that so long as the child was asymptomatic that there is no concern. That flies in the face of everything I have read about COVID-19. In fact, they really did not want us to notify our parents/staff. I'm not making this up. Now, ask yourself this question: how many childcare centers have received the same advice? The advice came from a nurse with the HD attached to the COVID-19 NC hotline.

I just wish we had a accurate count of how many people actually have it in the United States

That probably would cause rapid panic, almost sounds like they don’t want to release anything but serious symptom numbers. No symptoms? Nothing to see here.

Everything I have seen says that if you are infected you can begin shedding virus as early as 2-3 days in some cases....

All of this depends on how much the bill changes. Congress and senate will continue to mold and change the bill.

Forgive my ignorance, but I haven't been able to find a clear answer. I assume the check would cover people who are working. I am on Social Security and not working for now. I have assumed the xmcheck would cover workers only since jobs might be lost or hours reduced. Anybody know? Thanks!

That's the wrong way to look at it though, we need to know who has it as much as we can to isolate these people, those people infected without symptoms are out spreading it to others and never knowing it, these are the people that are fueling the pandemic.

Mild cases should stay home and not go to the hospital. Seems smart to me. I don’t understand the angry for not testing. Testing won’t make you get better faster. Stay home, rest and let the virus run it’s course. Elderly people should but under 60 should just stay home since you likely are not going to die. Saw on the news a young man getting tested with no symptoms just because he wanted to make sure he was ok. Dumb! I’ve seen this told by doctors all day. Stay home if you are sick!

For what it's worth, I think you've done the right thing by informing. I'm sure some parent will freak out about it, but better than the alternative.

What you heard from the health department is alarming.

The other item of note is that the parent is "very sick." Not sure what that means. But I do know the parent is young (20s) and was "very sick" for two days before being tested. We are reasonably certain that the parent dropped off the child Mon-Tues. The HD was told all of this.

I don’t know if this is allowed, but if not, mods feel free to delete.

As most of you know, I’m in the high risk category since I have chronic lymphocytic leukemia and have had my spleen removed. If you folks wouldn’t mind taking a look at this and signing if you want to. No pressure to do so, just putting it out there.

So basically if that child is carrying COVID-19. That child just infected a bunch of other children. And those children takes it home to parents and Grandparents. Am I missing anything?

That's horrible. DA for testing when tests are limited
