You’ve got snow all the way down in Athens, rain is not going to be predominate here. Plus wet bulb will easily get you at or below freezing and the upper air is definitely colder.
Snow in Toccoa is a great sign for those downstream imo. Warm bubble USA
Same here. Going back and forth between fatties and a lighter cold rain.

Whenever I see snow falling, I'm struck by the awesome beauty of it. Maybe that's because it happens so rarely for us. Or maybe it's because it really just is incredibly beautiful.

Still cold enough for snow. It can snow at 40 degrees especially if the upper air is as cold as it is right now.

Man! I had somewhat of a nagging feeling last night when I looked at this that you might see a surprise given how heavy the snow was projected in parts of North Georgia. Lo and behold, we're getting close to where I'd say this is the third fairly significant surprise to add to Christmas 2010 and 1/28/14, even if less impactful than both overall.

Thanks man, I mean, I may be wrong. I’m always conservative with my maps. But I certainly think areas in the grey could get a surprise. Hard to pin down. N GA just was in the perfect spot and time of day for this system to really delivery for them. Just happy at this point that the SE isn’t getting shut out.

Remember the last one it started out at 42
Since it’s not suppose to move out till 1-2pm think the snow and cloud over will keep temps from rising too much for it to stick around some, or will it be gone by 4 o clock?

The 925s are around 28-30 degrees in the upstate and the 850s are around 22-26 so once it starts even if you’re around 32-35 degrees that cold air is going to get pulled down. We’re actually much cold in the upper air than northern Georgia currently.
