It would seem that’s because of quite a few members that are very suppressed. Plenty of changes ahead it seems.
Yep, I’d 1000000% rather have a snow mean low to suppression Rn
Maybe we will see positive trends at 00Z with other globals/ensembles

Operative word of the season ... now if I may be so bold ... please keep that word out of tropical all season long ...
Operational goes to hour 90 and the EPS goes to hour 144.

It looks horrible outside of North Carolina after the 18z GFS run.
These probably been posted but it's been a long day and I'm too tired to scroll back through and see, anyway thing 1 and thing 2 (18 GEFS)... I too like to see suppression again at this lead time, unfortunately I think the Euro is firing warning shots right and left but we shall see

I don’t get all the emotional model watching. It’s too far out. It gonna change all week. I say we won’t even know the general rain/snow line until after Saturday 12z.

Wow interesting find. That 50/50 low makes all the difference , of course. Would certainly rather have EPS in our camp, although no doubt GEPS agrees with GEFS, so there’s that.
How did the 12z eps compare from the 18z with the 50/50 low/confluence?

I know it has the highest skill score but this isn’t the Euro from our youth. We shall see...what ends up verifying is usually a blend.

Weaker PV through hr 84 on the 0z GFS
This run of the gfs is about to be worse, watch me be wrong tho
CLT, CAE is baking lol
Cools down after that but this is obviously a worse run so far
GFS is slowly losing that finger of ridging up through eastern Canada. That seems to be causing out PV to come in weaker and weaker. Probably both symptoms of a bigger underlying issue but I’m an amateur and I’m trying my best..

GFS is suppressed at 156, not the worst look ive ever seen.

Just a random thought but one thing I've noticed is how much the timing constantly changes between these two systems on the different runs of Euro and especially GFS. For example, hour 138 of 18z GFS had a suppressed southern wave with light snow in NGA. There's essentially nothing on the corresponding hour 132 of the 0z GFS, as the "bulk" of the system seems to have already passed by 18 to 24 hours earlier with a much warmer rain. And there were some runs where the energy from the first wave and second wave seemed to be merged into one system, although that doesn't seem to be the case anymore (the 0z GFS second wave energy seems to just pass way to the south??). So until this gets resolved I would continue to expect potentially significant shifts.
The good news is the GFS has the second system suppressed. The bad news is our temps are already in the 50’s so
