Long story short the wife almost ran over the dog i had my phone in my hand and I went to snag the dog before the tires did . my phone was sacrificed for an old dog that can hear and has trouble seeing

Anyone else on this forum knows what it's like to watch winter storms dance around your area all winter long, while your location just can't buy one? In other words, a winter in which it's basically like you're under a dome? It happened in my location (Nashville) in winter 2008-09 and 2013-14. I imagine everyone in this region has experienced the dreaded snow hole.
2014-15 winter was the absolute worst around here. Feb 2015 in particular. So cold, lots of moisture and practically everyone had snow except folks south of I-20.

An historic storm in parts of the SE US and yet still so much whining. Man this gets tiresome to hear. For those who got nothing wintry (like me as usual but I'm not upset at all), it isn't as if there's some entity that controls the weather. If there was, that would be different. It is essentially random (well that's my belief anyway). And it is only weather for goodness sakes! Nothing tragic. And I love snow! And then those who whine after actually getting some snow but not as much as someone nearby are too much imo. This is not a contest. And then why is it so bad if a location with much lower average annual snow got more than you this time? If I were to get snow in the next few years, I'm going to be tempted to not even post about it. Why even post about something like that when so many feel mad because they think they got robbed?
End of my vent.

We'll get ours someday and then the rest can vent! :p
Best!

PS - The entity that controls the weather just kindly allows us to be here to enjoy it ...

Lol its the fact i wasnt there that got me :p.

Lived in alabama all those years and waited for a storm like this

That's kind of why I was so bitter at least

Was a great storm, top 3 for me

1. 2/12/10 - 3.5 inches of snow
2. 1/28/14 - 1 inch snow/accum sleet/ZR
3. 12/8/17 - 1 inch of snow
4. 3/1/09 - Dusting
5. 1/19/08 - Dusting
6. 12/25/10 - Slush

Before 08 I only saw snow once and that was in January 2002

I think it is the top for me. While obviously '93 was a bigger storm, I didn't get to track it and I just remember pieces of it. I'd have to leave it out. My top five.

1. 12/17- 9 to 10 inches
2. 1/14- The Snow jam - 4 inches
3. 12/10- White Christmas - 3 to 4 inches
4. 2/10 - 3 inches - broke a seven year drought of any snow over 2 inches
5. 12/00- 4 inches

I'm glad you're not mad at anybody on here :)

My favorites would be the 1/2000 ice storm, the December 05 ice storm, the February 2016 ice storm the January 2011 snow and this storm.

Got a zippy this go around, but some of my favorties, in no particular order would be:
January 16-17, 2003 (7 inches)
January 22, 2016 (6 inches)
February 16, 2015 ice/sleet storm (about 1 inch of zr/sleet pack in, on ground for a week)
2010 White Christmas (got only about 1.5 inches, but it was on Christmas)
of course, January 7, 1988 (8 inches)

I would've put the 2014 storm at 1b instead of 2 but it seemed like it took forever to changeover. Precip started in the morning as freezing rain then sleet fell and that actually turned the roofs white then the snow finally started at 3 and lasted until 6, first time I ever saw the roads covered with snow.

It's funny that my speculation from November was actually right, but a little disappointing that I missed the real show...by 1 measly day. Still had fun with it and for me snow TV with wet snow sticking in the trees is better than watching it fall tbh. 75 northwest of ATL was very pretty where you could see the trees.

I think my older cousin and his wife actually drove right through this storm yesterday to come to the party we went to tonight and they seemingly did no issue. He's in East NC, so it wouldn't be much different of a Georgia route than us.

I said I wondered if I'd see snow one of the times I went to LaFayette and indeed I did. It was mostly while I was on the road but I did.

funny, 2014-2015 was my first winter in Dallas and one of the best I've seen lol. It's just been trash ever since.

I guess I shouldn't complain too much... last storm in Alabama 1/28/2014 was like the best storm ever in Alabama really(close to jackpot without the disaster of Bham/Atlanta) and then 3/4-3/5/2015 here in Dallas was amazing for about 3 hours in the late evening(heaviest snow I've ever seen) but once the evil sun came up that was over, and it hasn't snowed more than a dusting since...
