I'd say it'll be well to the south on Sunday, running from Atlanta to Augusta and on eastward to near Orangeburg. Basing this on the 6z 84 hour NAM and experience that says wedge fronts get farther south than most models forecast. Even the GFS now says that the normal CAD areas of NC and SC will be wedged in by 2pm EDT Sunday. Any severe storms Sunday will be well to the south.Good luck to the NWS and local weather people forecasting the location of the backdoor front this weekend

Just use a Canadian / NAM blend!! They really do great on the CAD forecasting !Good luck to the NWS and local weather people forecasting the location of the backdoor front this weekend

Again, we must differ on our definitions. A heatwave in the summer for me is days of 95-100 but that isn't unheard of either....Easy , nice spring weather does not mean it's not hot . I was just making a point that the temps tomorrow and Saturday are not unheard of . Just bringing the " heatwave " back to reality

I'd bet it'll be closer to the NC SC border than that map shows, if not a little way into SC. If we are going to see severe weather this weekend SAT will be the day, since the CAD front will be well south on Sunday. Sat could actually be rough somewhere over the Carolinas though as this front comes south. A 25-30 degree temp gradient is nothing to sneeze at.
One of the few times I ever wished to live in Roxboro!

We better get it while the gettin is good.... after this weekend it's looking back to business as usual unfortunatelyAny decent convection on Friday should help propel the wedge boundary southward along the outflow boundary. I would favor south as well but I am hoping it sets up right over MBY so I can get a little rain on Saturday
I wouldn't be shocked to see a few storms roll off the Apps and try to make it to our area this eveningWe better get it while the gettin is good.... after this weekend it's looking back to business as usual unfortunately
