I suspect because they don't want retaliation in kind. Why hasn't Russia tried to take out the Presidential Palace in Kyiv and Zelensky?
Yeah someone tell me again how Putin is really winning and how great the Russian army is and how they can crush Ukraine whenever they want....

The way they are holding the referendums, if they all succeeded and Ukraine advances any further East, that's going attack on Russian soil in Putin's eyes. He knows he has to work fast with protests intensifying in Russia. What's haunting is that he actually said he is not bluffing with Nuclear Weapons. The main concern in my mind is that Russia annexes territory soon and then claims Ukraine is attacking Russian soil. This excuse could lead to more destructive means of weaponry. It has been great to see recent Ukrainian success, but nobody knows how this will end.
I highly doubt that Putin will fire nukes at Ukraine. He just said that to try to scare the West to stop giving military aid. It is a MAJOR risk for Putin to fire nukes. The way they are holding the referendums, if they all succeeded and Ukraine advances any further East, that's going attack on Russian soil in Putin's eyes. UN to hold emergency security meeting next week Wednesday, after the referendums, which doesn't sound good at all.

This is what the "map" will look like after the "successful" 27th "referendums".The way they are holding the referendums, if they all succeeded and Ukraine advances any further East, that's going attack on Russian soil in Putin's eyes. I’ve been watching a lot of Binkovs battles of YouTube lately. One of the things I’ve come to the conclusion of is old tactics of taking a nation by ground and holding it is nearly impossible in todays world, even if the nation is smaller and weak.Putin having to start a draft isnt anything other than all out evidence of the beating they took. What was revered as a world super powerhouse military is having to institute a draft against Ukraine. Not the US, China but Ukraine!
Also sad that so many Russian conscripts who never wanted to to go to war lost their lives over a leaders misplaced aspirations.
Just to be clear, I have my doubts that they will fire anything nuclear, but if I start to see some sus stuff, then my doubts will change. As of right now, my doubts remain the same as earlier. "Watch what they do, not what they say".
