Ukraine

Watching all the reports and it sure seems like there are a lot of dead Russians out there. Those Ukrainian totals might not be that far off.

No doubt, several thousand dead Russians seems likely in fact given the images on twitter etc, ATM hits on armor is usually not very survivable.....I suspect the Ukrainian losses are also pretty high as well. Crazy/sad that so many have died in just 60ish hrs.....and for what.

Yeah, I believe thousands of Russians have died, but I’d also say the same is true of the Ukrainians. It’s been bloody.

Looks like a apt building took a hit from a cruise missile perhaps....expect to see more of this as Russian forces bog down, they have to try and get the Ukrainians to surrender and no better way to do that than to start killing civilians...

Ghost of the eastern front…. Unseen but heard globally absent RQ-4B over country.

“The Northrop Grumman RQ-180 is an American stealthunmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) surveillance aircraftintended for contested airspace. As of 2019, there had been no images or statements released, but growing evidence points to the existence of the RQ-180 and its use in regular front-line service.[1]

No squawk and about the size of a mosquito with over the horizon, 70-80K’ cruising is rumored.
Imagine being a young Russian soldier in a tank, knowing full well there is probably an American drone overhead that you can’t hear or see on radar telling the Ukraine army exactly where you are and where you are going.

We all know they are up there.

War crime I believe!

More likely than not given the less than stellar accuracy of Russian missiles this was just a unfortunate outcome of having Russia shoot missiles into your airspace. Frankly this entire war so far has seen lots of errant Russian rockets/missiles....whether or not these are deliberate targeting of residential areas is hard to prove.

If true this would in fact be war crime level stuff....some think the AA missiles launched just a while ago may also have been at attempts to hit the dam.

Sure Russia isn’t showing its full hand.

They cant really hide it.....we know everything they got in theater anyways....they can always toss long range ballistic stuff at Ukraine but that would constitute a large escalation and probably get a real reaction out of NATO etc and even then we would probably even see that coming....

We know they have only sent about 1/3 of the force they have at the border into Ukraine.....the problem they are having is not so much they dont have the numbers its that the Ukraine is doing a lot with less. The Russian troops heart is not in it, they are not well trained and they are up against people who are literally fighting for their homes and family in their own backyards. Russia will get destroyed in urban areas and harassed in rural....by the time this thing is a week old the Russians will have lost more men and equipment than they have in their last few wars combined. Putin is going to have to decide how far he is willing to go, it will take total war on their part to win out here, that will be very unpopular even at home.

That Ukraine president sure has guts. Many people by now would have tucked there tail and ran. You will probably see countless movies of this war in the coming future.

I imagine negotiations heavily favored Russia. And Ukraine didn't want it.

I disagree with this statement and it simply will not be true

I dunno the last two "real wars" they were in where the Chechen ones and they lost around 10k total men in both of those wars that lasted a total of 2.5 yrs.....the Ukraine are claiming 3k+ Russian dead in 48ish hrs...if that is even close then they are averaging losing 1000-1500 men a day, after 7 days that would damn near be 10k men....now granted the numbers are probably inflated quite a bit but even if they "only" lose 4-5k men in the first week that is still over HALF of the total number of losses in both Chechen wars....in a week.

And as far as hardware goes the Russians have not lost this kind of hardware in a very long time....
