Oh yeah they are still in commission. The people who want to de-commission it don't fight on the ground! I would love to see a pass through on that lineup.....or a B-52 carpet bombing

Actually it's 30 MM and yes it brings with it a sound that instills reassurance if you are in a less than ideal situation that requires CAS.
 
Russia also has a lot of newer tools in their arsenal. If we can't find a solution to this unfolding crisis soon, there will be a lot of pulverized people on all sides. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but I don't think it's healthy to speculate about the US taking reckless actions.

I can't believe they wanted the F-35 to assume CAS. It's a single engine platform, right? Relying on guided weapons and technologies when you need simple to maintain, fear inducing, lingering cover. Evidently, ground crews can turn the A-10 around pretty quickly and run more sorties than the F-35 could. You just need to clear out the SAMs and dominate the air above.

Mass goes up with the square of radius, also the 30mm rounds are proportionally longer. Assuming a similar velocity, probably more like 20x the kinetic energy, round per round.

It would be devastating for sure but could it evade Russian air defense missiles and fighters to even make it to the column?

We are talking hypotheticals here but sure. The B-52 carries an array of weapons including cruise missles. If the united states were fighting this war we could insure a solid hit on that convoy.......Ukraine unfortunately doesn't have this capability

Hence why I said earlier that he's reached the point of no return. Even if he backs out of Ukraine completely, in the incoming sanctions and war crime charges would be astronomical.

He'll raise the intensity before he withdraws. The rest of the world better be prepared to do the same.

Link? If true, this is terrifying and Putin could literally order anything. MAD may go out the window if he’s going to die regardless, and we’d have to hope his generals have the balls to stand up to him.
 
Yea theres really no point to move an ICBM for use, as the name states it can quiet literally hit anywhere around the world. Gonna guess for show, dont know if for a parade or for fear. I know this is alot worse than crimea but ill be honest every single article with breaking news gets old fast ill probably keep my intake of information to a minimum
