Yep, that's what I'm thinking. He is addressing the nation at 1pm our time.Reportedly, he will recognize the independence of Donbas and Luhansk. We’ll see soon.

And that goes for both sides. Such a sad situation.Hopefully, some of the other stuff I've been seeing turns out to be false, but I'd say there's a 90% chance that this is imminent.
It sucks for anyone there that doesn't want it.
Then the question becomes does he declare the Ukrainian forces now in this newly independant pro-russian territory an occupying force and use that as a means to send in troops?Hopefully, some of the other stuff I've been seeing turns out to be false, but I'd say there's a 90% chance that this is imminent.

Agreed. This is wild. This is the kind of stuff that dictators use to justify conquering other countries. Makes me wonder what’s going to happen next…This is a scary speech.
This is quite the speech. Seems to be using history to justify Russia controlling all of Ukraine, stating it was “created by Russia.” We’ll see where it goes. I thought it’d be short and to the point about recognizing the breakaway provinces, instead he’s evoking Lenin’s name and all kinds of other stuff. Basically, the implication seems to be Ukraine has no right to exist.
Very ominous. This is a scary speech.
I have a feeling that will eventually happen. Now he’s moving on to rant about grievances with NATO and the USA. This speech is wide ranging. This feels like a justification for invading all of Ukraine, maybe more.
