I have read that the reason the US and others keep saying and giving certain dates as invasion timeframes is our intel is spot on and or we have solid humint sources, plus by putting this out there it forces Putin to change things up to prevent making the US and others look right by moving in when we say he is.

Still all signs point to Russian troops and equipment entering Donbas any time now.....do not underestimate the Ukrainians they a ready to fight and will give a good showing early at least.

This sounds melodramic and fearmongering on Boris Johnson part. If Russia is mostly planning on invading eastern Ukraine(which almost sounds certain at this point),it wouldn't be that large of a war. Even if Russia plans on invading all of Ukraine,it wouldn't be that much different from the US invading Iraq back in 2003.The only way this would be correct is if NATO gets troops directly involed,which in that case,the war would be quite short since nuclear war would happen at that point becasue we can't have nuclear powers fighting eachother without nuclear weapons being used.

To be fair he did qualify it by saying Europe, which if the Russians go full out into Ukraine would be accurate.
 
The problem with wars in Europe is that they have a history of spreading beyond the original belligerents.

Any Russian incursion into Ukraine will be a step down a dangerous road.

Yea, I think the biggest Europe war since 1945 was Yugoslavia breaking up in the 90's. Nasty war locally if I recall, but didn't have as much global importance. Both sides in this one have more firepower obviously.
 
That town is on the northern border of Ukraine and not in the area of the breakaway republics.

I'm seeing a report or two that Macron (France) and Putin may have agreed to meet for peace talks tomorrow, but not sure if accurate.

Feels like this lines up with the last week or so, because I do remember the report about the withdrawal of "some" troops on Tuesday morning.
