Misc This Means WAR

Don't forget that the IRGC is the ones who did this. They're testing Trump by doing the blockade. They know that his war approval ratings is down the toliet. You have a faction ("moderates") who are negoiating and the war-mongers (IRGC). Any resumption of fighting will further inflame tensions between that two factions. Heck the IRGC called the foreign minister a idiot.
They are trying to use the strategy North Vietnam and the Viet Cong used so successfully and it may very well work again.

100% agree with this. Iran will come out of this in much better shape than they were. I can see a scenario where they even get to keep their nuke program alive and get a weapon ready before too long.
I have no confidence in Trump negotiating with Iran. Iran will sign some meaningless deal then ignore it

It's not all about this one girl. Plenty of Iranians hate their govt and are doing the only thing they have the power to do trying to change it. The entire political power structure needs to be wiped out somehow. The country changed in 1979, and it needs to change again very soon.

Indeed, the 80% who opposed the terrible Mullahs regime still almost entirely do despite a portion no longer supporting this war due to civilian deaths, especially the school-kids, and civilian infrastructure damage. Initially nearly all of this 80% supported the war and were very hopeful for regime change, especially when the Ayatollah was killed. But they then discovered pretty soon afterward that the Mullahs are much more deeply entrenched than they realized and thus a good portion of this 80% then gave up nearly all hope for regime change. :( At that point that portion saw nothing good about the war and only the bad. So, they became opposed to it despite still hating the Mullahs and most still not hating US/Israel although I wouldn’t blame parents of those kids now hating them for obvious reasons (imagine of one of your own kids was killed). It’s pretty complicated and very sad for that 80%. :(

REPORT: U.S. intelligence assesses Iran still retains significant military capability despite strikes.• ~70% of pre-war ballistic missile stockpiles• ~60% of missile launchers (after recovering ~100 from underground)• ~40% of drone arsenalTehran is actively recovering buried weapons, potentially restoring much of its pre-war strength.

I don't believe that at all. If that were the case, you would use a missile to scare tankers instead of boats with a few guys using machine guns.

Makes us look incredibly weak that we did nothing about it. If Iran is smart they would slow down the negotiations to a crawl and as we get closer to the midterms Trump will agree to anything

Not quite. India is now irritated and Iran is having to smooth things because they attacked the oil tankers of an "ally". This pretty much proves the vessels attacking the ships were morons who didn't even know what they were targeting.

IRGC Aerospace Commander Maj. Gen. Majid Mousavi:“During the pause in hostilities, we are upgrading and replenishing missile and drone launch platforms at a faster pace than before the war.We assess the enemy cannot match this tempo and is forced to bring in munitions gradually from across the world.”

Why waste missiles and drones when a few guys with machine guns can do the job, Iran does not want to sink tankers. If they sling missiles and drones then the chances that happens goes up. Iran is using the strait to leverage the negotiations, the US has managed to isolate itself from most of its allies, especially in Europe and sinking tankers would make Europe take a more hands on approach weakening that leverage.

Dont worry Trump will tweet about some new improved deal right before the opening bell Monday...

Because one missile will prove you will do what you say and that you have the means. You dont actually have to destroy the vessel. A gunboat with machine guns targeting an ally ship shows your blockade is probably just a few uncontrolled yahoo's who probably are not getting orders or not connected to the main government apparatus.

Eventually that will get tested and if you can't back your threat up, your only negotiating point goes down the toilet forever.

Maybe he can launch himself as a missile upgrade.

Bridges and power plants are back on the menu.

The ships turned around right. If it hadn't then maybe they would have used a missile. The point is Iran can do exactly that and everyone knows it.

Iran knows we are making a deal to make the stock market go up and oil price down. They going to agree to a deal to get nukes and fund terror. Anything they sign will promptly be ignored.

That's possible, but being dumb enough to attack an allied vessel probably doesn't inspire confidence they could pull it off.

Update from my Iranian-American buddy:

I think Iran will give up the nuclear program for now if they get reparations money, which they need to survive.

Then I said: But I thought mullahs too strong to be overthrown.

He then said:
Mullahs are very strong, true... but once the war is ended, you need to keep 93 mm busy making money.

Once the war ends, they need money to keep busy rebuilding otherwise millions will show up on streets.

I then asked this:
Would it be nuclear deal similar to Obama’s? Or would it be better for US?

He responded with this:

I don't think the nuclear agreement would be better than the older one which Trump canceled.

Remember mullahs now have the upper hand... because of economical pressure they impose globally.

A devastated husband took his own life after regime agents raped his dead wife’s body and sent him the photos.Islamic Republic security forces raided the home of Saleheh Akbari and her husband Ahmad Khodaei.Saleheh, a 38-year-old nurse, operating room technician, and mountaineer, along with her husband, had opened their house to wounded protesters during the January 2026 uprising - people too terrified to go to hospitals because the regime was hunting them down. They treated the injured. They hid them. They saved lives.A few days later, regime agents stormed in. They beat Ahmad. Saleheh threw herself between them to protect her husband. They shot her point-blank in the heart - right in front of him and their young child. She died in his arms. Then came the unspeakable: agents assaulted Saleheh’s lifeless body, took photos of the desecration, and sent them to Ahmad as psychological torture. The sexual harassment and horror he endured pushed him beyond any human limit.Broken by grief, Ahmad posted a final goodbye letter to his wife on Instagram and took his own life. Two kind, brave souls - a mother and father who only showed humanity in a regime that has none - are gone.

This is just heartbreaking.

They have all the cards in the negotiations. Trump approval plummeting, Mid-terms, and Trump is now basing everything on the stock market going up and oil going down. Iran is well aware of this.

Right...

I worry that yall actually believe this, but I'll patiently wait for Iran to unleash hellfire on our heathern booties.

Just the way it is.

If Trump's farts constantly fog the brain of logical reason, then yes.

But, from a purely militarily standpoint, it's like saying a city under complete seige holds all the cards by one lone man raising from the ramparts and firing one single arrow at the invaders.
