Misc This Means WAR

Going under the radar here but Iran struck Azerbaijan at Nakhchivan Airport. Azerbaijan is somewhat a US/EU ally and key energy exporter. The largest minority group in Iran are ethnic Azeris...could their militias (and the Kurds) help create further chaos in Iran for the régime? On one hand it could contribute to its downfall, but on the other, when there is weak state control, jihadist groups tend to thrive.

The stock market has really taken a nosedive this week and most of the damage done is due to the conflict with Iran and its effect on energy prices. I know this is only speculation but I saw where one analyst said oil could be trading at $150.00 a barrel if the war stretches out for any length of time. With Trump's latest remarks about unconditional surrender being the only acceptable outcome, I'm afraid we are going to be in for some rough going financially if he is serious about that.

Crude is getting close to the pain point of $ 100.00 a barrel when most consumers really feel the increase at the gas pumps. With the Democrats hitting Trump hard on affordability, he may have just given them an unlimited supply of ammunition if these financial worries become reality by going to war with Iran.

Unconditional surrender s the only way

They’re a major Israeli “low profile” ally, as well (because they both hate Iran),

Completely irrational fear. Oil will fall as fast as its risen
While is is true that oil prices will fall back unlike many other goods when a conflict or crisis is over, Trump's demands for unconditional surrender would mean that we might be in the Middle East fighting Iran for a longer period than was first expected and that would mean a lot
of consumers will have to tighten up their budgets to deal with this. That, in turn, could lead to a recession, not just in America but in most developed nations. I like the idea of trying to eliminate a global threat and supporter of terrorist activities all around the globe in the Iranian government but the price could be a literal one that many of us will pay.

I think the end for Iran will come rather quickly.

I hope so. The thing that worries me though is that their government is a religious theocracy and a fanatical one at that. Many of the supporters of that regime believe in dying for their faith rather than surrender.

Gas gonna hit 3504$ easy in this mess
We’re down to 1.99 here a month ago, now 3.29$ and rising everyday the last week

Are the 2000$ rebates Trump promised still happening?? I really don’t keep up with politics, but that was gonna be a thing, right?

Not the same thing. We had a whole army on the ground and the population never showed a real interst in overthrowing Saddam.

Yeah this feels different. It may end up the same, but somehow I don't think the Iranian population will let terrorist cells like ISIS or AL Qaeda slip in and take control.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil broke above $90 per barrel and ended the week with a 35% gain — its biggest since oil futures trading began in 1983 — as investors weighed the impact of the U.S.-Iran war on global energy supply. Oil surged Friday after President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post that there won’t be a deal to end the U.S.-Iran war without an “unconditional surrender” from the Middle Eastern country.
