Perhaps but Iran needs to be defeated. They cant ever get a nukeI’m confident that you realize that it’s much easier to get into a war than to get out of one. It’s been the getting out that’s been a huge problem as we know and thus the strong opposition to entering in the first place.
The stock market has really taken a nosedive this week and most of the damage done is due to the conflict with Iran and its effect on energy prices. I know this is only speculation but I saw where one analyst said oil could be trading at $150.00 a barrel if the war stretches out for any length of time. With Trump's latest remarks about unconditional surrender being the only acceptable outcome, I'm afraid we are going to be in for some rough going financially if he is serious about that.

Crude is getting close to the pain point of $ 100.00 a barrel when most consumers really feel the increase at the gas pumps. With the Democrats hitting Trump hard on affordability, he may have just given them an unlimited supply of ammunition if these financial worries become reality by going to war with Iran.Wow, I just noticed crude is up 12% today! Holy cow:

They’re a major Israeli “low profile” ally, as well (because they both hate Iran),Going under the radar here but Iran struck Azerbaijan at Nakhchivan Airport. Azerbaijan is somewhat a US/EU ally and key energy exporter. The largest minority group in Iran are ethnic Azeris...could their militias (and the Kurds) help create further chaos in Iran for the régime? On one hand it could contribute to its downfall, but on the other, when there is weak state control, jihadist groups tend to thrive.

Pretty big jump in diesel today from early morning to early evening. Now at right around 4 dollars at the stations I drive past.
While is is true that oil prices will fall back unlike many other goods when a conflict or crisis is over, Trump's demands for unconditional surrender would mean that we might be in the Middle East fighting Iran for a longer period than was first expected and that would mean a lotCompletely irrational fear. I think the end for Iran will come rather quickly. While is is true that oil prices will fall back unlike many other goods when a conflict or crisis is over, if Trump's demands for unconditional surrender means that we might be in the Middle East fighting Iran for a longer period than was first expected and that could mean a lot of
consumers will have to tighten up their budgets to deal with this. That, in turn, could lead to a recession, not just in America but in most developed nations. I like the idea of trying to eliminate a global threat and supporter of terrorist activities all around the globe in the Iranian government but the price could be a literal one that many of us will pay.
I hope so. The thing that worries me though is that their government is a religious theocracy and a fanatical one at that. Many of the supporters of that regime believe in dying for their faith rather than surrender.I think the end for Iran will come rather quickly.
That’s what Rumsfeld said for Iraq and it definitely didn’t.I think the end for Iran will come rather quickly.

Not the same thing. We had a whole army on the ground and the population never showed a real interst in overthrowing Saddam.
